well, i've made 2 cups of juice twice now.
looks like i screwed up once, but i'm not sure which time.

see.,. my first mix i did by eye.
i wanted 50/50, so i used 250ml of vg n 250ml of pg.
that seemed right, right?

but this batch i'm using a calculator,
i set it for 50/50.
it told me to use a ratio around 3/4 vg n 1/4 pg for my 50/50 mix.

that can't be right, can it?

Doesn't sound right to me. 3/4 VG and 1/4 PG would be 75/25.
Unless my math skills are screwed, your first mix is correct.

thanks. i used the e=liquid calculator at
liquid nicotine wholesalers.

i just went back n set it to 50/50 without adding other stuff.
4.4 pg to 5.0 vg.
i think i need a new calculator.
got one?

I would think the flavorings and whether your nic is pg or vg based, the pg in the recipe would go up. What you mixed 50/50 was without the pg based flavoring or nicotine. At least that sounds right in my head.

You’re correct. When you put it in a calculator, it takes the pg in the flavors into account. And if your nicotine is 50/50, it takes that into account, as well.

No. When you put in 250 pg and 250 vg, then put your flavors in, it will be pg heavy from the pg in the flavors.

i just ran the numbers again, it now says equal amounts of vg n pg.
this was only 1 out of 3.
i'll now have to add pg haphazardly, because i don't remember the exact amounts i put in,
that will throw off the nic too.

this sucks.

How much flavoring are you using?

Elr mixing site will calculate all that for you. I've never mixed by the cup though. Usually 80ml at a time if it something I like.

I have an idea for you. See if this makes sense.

To make 500 ml of 50/50 juice

Get two receptacles, each large enough to hold half of the mix

Into receptacle 1, put flavors, 1/2 of the total amount of Nic in 50/50 base, then top off to 250 ml with PG

Into receptacle 2, put the other half of Nic, top off to 250 ml with VG

Combine contents of the two and mix well.

Done.

One other thing:

If you're mixing by volume, you don't need to worry about weight. 250 ml of VG will not weigh the same as 250 ml of PG.

Yeah but isn’t she still gonna be pg heavy from the pg in the flavors?

And 100% yes...pg and vg weigh differently!

I don’t know. I use a calculator for a reason....cause I don’t trust my math skills.

No, because PG plus flavors plus nic equals half of the mix.

Then VG plus nic equals the other half.

The only amount she'll be "off" is the actual flavoring - not the bases the flavoring is in, but the very tiny amounts of the flavoring itself.

Lol! This is why I use a calculator! My math skills are sub par, at best. I can’t wrap my head around this at all. I’m sure you’re correct.

Well very few people would be able to use this - it depends on everything but the flavors being 50/50. Otherwise it won't work.
