Just a little heads up to all the vapers here in the U.S.

Today received a notification from DHL on two orders I was to have delivered and was tracking, that are now being held by the FDA and Customs in Los Angeles.

Here are the notifications and their request for additional information, I spoke directly with DHL and they indicated that the FDA was requesting the additional information.

Tell em it's a couple of Protanks and a pack of heads, those were made early enough on.. None of their damn business, if it was made prior to 8/8, or anytime.

LOL... Yep I wish... Hell my last package thet was via VapeSourcing last month, came through San Francisco, and you could clearly tell it had been cut open, inspected, and tapped closed again, before it was forwarded to me.... That was via DHL also... Hmmmm beginning to suspect I should not be shopping with folks that use DHL....

I simply don't understand why they need this information. Most of it is right there on the package.

Yea , I think they (FDA) are taking a lot of this into their own hands and with no policing of these new policies on behalf of the consumers , they get away with anything they want:facepalm:

Yeah... I did ask that also, and yes I did confirm it was DHL and not a scam, this was legit... Linda indicated, that although the information, hell my name, address and phone was on the package, I still had to reply and give it to them, as to say I was bullshitting them, I can only assume the social, of which I only gave the last 4 digits, as for typical verification processes, hope that will not bite me... But the gal said that should be ok....

Now just have to wait and see if the FDA goon squad will be a knocking at my door....lol

Strange because I received a China package two days a go from DHL with no issues, and have one coming in tomorrow from UPS.

From two days ago.

My package was held up last year from DHL. Customs had the FDA inspect it. Took over a week before I received it. That was from Poland. Just last week my Chinese package was held for lack of information. The vendor cleared it up. Received that package on Monday. That was through Fedex. Now today I expected a domestic package to be here. Looked at the tracking. It arrived in Portland Oregon !? Wrong coast morons !! That was the USPS ! They all suck !!!!!

I have a package from China containing mods that entered the country at Chicago. It sat in customs for three weeks and has just been released. It was a USPS shipment. It crossed my mind the FDA has instructed Customs to look for vaping items released after August 8th. It will be interesting to see if the package has been opened when it arrives and if anything is missing. By the way all the mods were pre August 8th. I don't see how Customs can determine the release date of anything at this point. Perhaps they are in a quandary of what to do. I would say we are paranoid but this is the game the FDA played in 2009 having Customs seize vaping devices.

In 2009 it was larger shipments to vendors that were seized not personal consumer products.

Well mine was just blind luck as it was actually two packages, from two different suppliers, both from China, one was "Sourcemore", the other "VapeSourcing", one package was about $285.00, the other about $160.00, they were both shipped by DHL, and low and behold (god I have to buy a lottery ticket) they both arrived the same time in customs in Los Angeles, both are held, both contained between 5-7 items, I had gotten some good deals on pre-order stuff and it shipped... not like multiple duplicates, as if I was a retailer, but I bet they are large, I get those too, they go in my parcel locker in my housing development, I have never had an issue until now.. Have had folks tell me it was due to the valuation, and that could be. But the DHL Rep handling the matter specifically said that the FDA put a hold on it and wanted the information that they were requesting.

I have a FastTech order out, it is smaller, so I will see what happens with that..

I started vaping to quite smoking, to which I have succeeded, but in the process I have gained another hobby, lol.. I like the tech, so I buy new toys (as the wife calls them) for my collection, this time included, a new Kanger Kone, Kanger JUPPI, New H-Priv mini, and several other newly released items, probabl bought a dozen mods, kits, and tanks between the two, so I know the packages might be a bit large..

Happens to me anytime I order from FT. They sit in Chicago longer than it takes them to get there. That hub and Kearny, NJ are really bad. I hear the same about Orlando.
Have you ever not received anything? Asking dont know but I have read that you could be hit with additional charges and shipping cost. Thats kept me from ever ordering outside the us have to count pennies not by choice so dont have extra money, to just take a chance ot wouldn't ever happen.

No, not personally, and I haven't read about anyone not receiving, to this point, either. I've not gotten anything from China post 8/8, though. Overseas shipments have always taken a little while, for me, but never missing anything.

I know that Fasttech, eFuntop, 3Fvape all will ship USPS. I've really only dealt with them, other than a contest win from HeavenGifts. That one shipped out DHL. I'm still hearing about people having no issues with the first 3 that I mentioned, I just hope that continues.

I agree about Chicago. After Customs gets through delaying it next USPS sends it the wrong way for delivery. They are really screwed up there.

Your CC company will give you a refund... you paid for something and never got it

The way I see it, if it wasn't being made and sold by 8/8 it isn't legal in the US...preorders only give you the ability to reserve a copy once the product hits the market and just because most sites thought that was good enough, unfortunately, doesn't make it true.

Shitty law but even those need to be followed until we are able to change them

Well here is a little update, and little rehash for folks out there, I put it together from here and some other forum posts.. But basically if the vaping industry does not hop to it, they are dead...

Posted:

Ok, so I just got off the phone with DHL.. I had to provide them all my information, this was not the cost of the orders, this was not my blind luck, according to DHL, they and all shippers are now having to comply with FDA regulations applying to any smoking related products, the FDA has a 5 Day hold on the processing to get their information, the 3 Days for customs.

I was told by DHL, that they will be stopping any shipments that indicated that they are smoking related products in any shape or form, and or from companies and or retailers that sell smoking related products, so I guess they have a list. I was also informed that other shippers will or should be falling in line with these regulations

All I have is what they tell me, so time will tell and we will see if anyone else gets caught up in the mess.

I am not making this shit up.... Just happening the way I have laid it out...

The initial contact from DHL required the following:

Please be advised, we require the following to facilitate clearance of your shipment:

2. Address of importer.
3. Name of importer.
4. Detailed description of contents.

Additionally I had to provide a detailed list of the contents, so I typed it out and sent to them, along with a PDF of the Invoice.

Then they came back asking if there was juice in the order.. Shit I told them look at the invoice, crap then I get another call to verify who I am and give them my SS Number again

Then they thanked me and told me the FDA processing will take 5 days and then 3 additional days for customs processing....

Like I said I asked the rep, is this normal, she said no, not in the past, but it will be for any smoking related products, vapes and juices were not considered smoke related, till the FDA designated them as such, and now the shippers have to look for them...

So beware...

Essentially the FDA is going to lock down the borders to the U.S. just as they did with Clove Cigarettes yeas back... When they said that clove cigarettes lead to kids smoking...

And yes this will be applied to anything that could be utilized for vaping... including batteries, drip tips, and such, but it will more than likely be from who and where shipped, I do believe they have a database in place for any vape related retailers, that would be my opinion....

Not sure how or why people are assuming that this is related to the FDA at all. DHL and FedEx act as Customs Clearing brokers for US Customs and there is currently no legal hold in effect for imports of vaping devices in general, only new (post 8/8) releases would even be covered at this point in time. Regardless of what this or that phone operator at DHL/FedEx, Customs Clearing of FDA regulated products hasn't changed since the last update in June of this year. Your problems may be that your shippers are identifying themselves as vapor products/shippers and not electronics. FastTech and GearBest sell electronics (and other things) and are far less likely to have problems than a clearly identified VapeSourcing shipper.

All you need to do is provide the information requested and you will receive your goods (provided they're not on a FDA "no fly" list). You will probably have to pay taxes/duties on these products.

After three weeks in Chicago customs the package arrived today unopened. All items inside are sealed. It makes no sense at all. Where has it been for three weeks?
