Ehh, I think they still have their place in that they have an advantage in aesthetic and feel. You just can't fit a chip into the same size tube (I do have a "regulated" tube though, but it's a good like 20%+ taller). You can't easily put together your own custom builds nearly as easily (is doable and a goal of mine eventually). And, just in general those two aspects they excel compared to regulated devices.

After that, yeah it's the hobbyist thing, It's fun having to build the entire setup together and tweak it to perfection rather than just push a button until you like it.

But, yes you need to know what you're doing. Honestly all factory tanks should not be used on them even if theoretically safe you never know with those factory coils and at least you should break the coils in on a regulated device so you know it's working as expected.

As for quality of vape, the only time I get issues with my regulated mods is when the safeties are kicking in, so that's probably a good thing when they do that, if I were on a mech it'd just continue through, which might usually be ok but that one time...

I don't really benefit from the small size, since I always use a Kick, if I use a mech -- so I have to use the 18650 length, while using an 18500 battery. Wish I had a mech that has an extra Kick ring, but my two don't, a Fallen Angel and a Galileo. I got them mainly as Vapocalypse insurance, and got them early enough that I could get acquainted with them, accustom myself to how they work, but they've both been in the drawer since 2014, since I prefer my regulated mods; in fact all I use anymore are regulated box mods; even my Sigelei Zmax that used to be my workhorse hardly ever gets used anymore. Box mods are great for clumsy people like me, they don't fall over nearly as easily as tubes. :D

If the FDA really decides to be assholes, I may end up being very grateful for those mechs, but for now... I vastly prefer my regulated boxes. One reason I like the iPV Minis so much is that they use external batteries, unlike my 3 CF4s, so they may last a bit longer for active use, than the internal-battery CF4s.

Post your builds please and label them if you can! Can you also label them as which ones for flavor and which ones are for clouds?

I get help building coils these days. I have cataracts and arthritis! So a bellus and a 50 watt kanger ... see I hava regulated.

fHhotvT.jpg
I completely understand, I have preliminary signs of carpel tunnel...so my coiling days are numbers...but for now I will do what I can with what I got!

That is the spirit Ray. I will prepare the wire and have someone insert the coils. Unless it is a simple 5 wrap 22 guage kanthal 2.5 diam. which incidentally at .2 ohm vapes quite nicely.

we are hijacking the thread. i feel guilty

I really want the panzer, do you know what it's called when the atomizer sits in the middle? Or any other mods that do that?

Its a "Centered 510", less then a handful of mods have that feature. The Panzer box, DIY/Hammond boxes, the Hexohm, the Tugboat Box, the Boxer Mod and the Waidea Idea 60 are the only mods I know of with it.

My two current go to setups. "Murdered out" RX 200 with the Herakles Plus V2 and my favorite mod of all time, the Snow Wolf 1.5 topped with a Mutation X V4. They are a bit cumbersome to tote around but they allow me to vape all day at higher watts without constantly swapping out batteries. It's a good trade off IMO.

Don't worry I'm taking good care of her :)
Using the same build still? Did you enjoy the build? I never get any real feedback from anyone besides Ej for the coils after people have used them.

I like the Mutation x V4. Strangely I have recently become overly fond of my Sapor. Easy to build deep enopugh well. But I had to clean out bits of burrs when I got it. Vapes great though. Now Ray - I know you only use compvape products, lol. I like them too but I have a number attys that seem to vape better although much trickier to build and often not as well put together. In my weekly rotation now is the Troll, the Sapor, Doge X2, Velocity mini, Double Vision and Twisted Messes. No clones. I would be hard pressed to say which I like best.

I refuse to start taking pictures of my juices now. Jeez. I know have at least 20+ or so about at any time. Half are steeping and half are being vaped.

And RAY - send me some of your lovely coils and I'll give you feedback up the wazoo. I rarely vape tanks.

I use plenty of other RDA's...Just the Compvape products hold some of the bigger builds and I keep more of them around then any other brand RDA.
RDA's Ive own...most are traded for RDA's I enjoy, Most are Authentic but I do buy clones....
Lush
Glacier V2
24mm Temple
Avocado
Fountain V2
5 or so Derringers
Bambino
Noxus
454
Kennedy 24mm
Doge X2/V2
PhenotypeL
REMatty
Indestructible
2 Velocitys
Mutation X3/4/xs
Stro Mini V1
Freakshow
Mad Hatter Mini
Tugboats V2 and V3 on its way
Hobo V2.1 and V3 on its way
Baal V3 on its way
Magma Reborn on its way
Tsunami Pre Ordered...

Its been a journey but most of these I found to be more hype then useful and I didnt have a reason to keep them around, some of these are still in use by other members in the forum, some on this very thread....

I find the TM², the Double Vision, and the Velocity to be my main RDA's in my rotation. I build alot and I switch out builds constantly...so I like RDA's that are easily changed up, cleaned and put back in use.

I have 2 different versions of the MVP and neither have a centered 510

Ah, it's the *button* that's centered, on the older ones, which was what I hated about them, button in absolutely the wrong place. Nothing ergonomic about that center placement at all; nice that they finally realized that and put it on the edge where it belongs.

I'm going to be going back to work tomorrow, so I'm using my snow wolf with my herakles, I put in a new ni200 coil, and I'm letting it sit overnight with some juice in it. So far, only a tiny bit of juice came out, but I think it's because I accidentally opened the juice flow all the way. But I opened it about 20% to let some juice in, vaped on it, and then I let it sit for a few minutes before closing the juice flow all the way. I'm really hoping I don't have anymore leaking issues with this. I really love the herakles.

I love it. The RDA and coils are giving exactly what I want in a vape. The vape production is obscene and your claptons are bringing new life to my favorite juices. Easily the best set up I've ever had.

I did put that post up the same day but that was after nearly burning through 30mls in just a few hours. It's really hard to put down. Can't wait for Wednesday so I can try out the new ones. You are officially my "coil guy".

That's a great set up. I'm a huge fan of the Herakles Plus and the V2. I love them so much I have 6 of the two and another V2 in stainless coming on Friday. If you like the fullsize you should check out the V2. It sits really pretty on the SW and makes it more portable. There's no top airflow but because of its size the flavor off of it is amazing.

I definitely want one in stainless steel or black in the v2 especially because of the information I found out about my tfv4 with my rx200. I always keep my top airflow closed or almost closed anyway. I just like to have that option. I think black would really make my white and green rx200 pop because the buttons are black.
