What are these coils called and what ohms will a single one resd

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
These are a set of CSSFC's (Corrugated Staple Staggered Fused Claptons)

They will vary like any build with different metals, I used mostly SS (Round Wire Frames and 2ply Ribbon Frames) and these were a .07 ( .14 Single) with 4 Wraps/3mm ID. If made using N80 frames and Kanthal Ribbon it would be closer to .09 ( .18 Single) with the same specs.

The Corrugated Builds and Tsuka Builds are mostly for attention...they are spitty and cooler of a vape, not what I would prefer to vape but they do well on Instagram.

3 strand braid also annealed the wire to keep it straight20170603_150320.jpg the vid I took is too long n horrible but I had a brain storm to use key rings to anchor the wire. my next braid I know I need to tape the wires as long as twist them to the rings they kept falling off now to figure out what to do with this.

I've looked pretty far back in the pages looking for tips/methods and have seen pages of raymo saying he hated ribbon builds, and some of whiteowl getting tips from ray and others pretty much the way I do now. It's crazy how much better you can get with practice. You guys put some amazing pics up and help all of us newbies out now (appreciated! ;p) Even I am getting where I notice a difference from when I first started seeking tips here. I could barely do a SSFC and today I let the drill rip on one with no ribbon sliders/bindings and got it done. never thought id be able to do it a few months ago.

I'm suddenly reminded of copious use of spool tamers.

Just so everyone knows....
I learned how to build from slippy_eel and Tom Forde (ECF).
After about a month or so from making my first clapton I could make lots of aliens, staples and SFC but I couldn't get a SSFC. I didn't like Tom's method and slippy_eel does aliens, SSFC, Staggs... almost everything with no swivels so I couldn't do that either.
I'm not sure why I came to VU but I'm sure asking raymo how to set up SSFCs was within my first 10 posts.
That's where I learned to float stuff. In short that's how we build almost everything and it the idea is you only hook the frames up to the swivel and drill. Your ribbon stack, your staggerton core, your binary stack or whatever just sits (or "floats") between the frames held in by ribbon sliders then you fuse around it. As you pull the frames the whole thing gets tight as a cat's ass if you've done it right.
I still build every damn thing like this because it works on every damn thing. That won't change until I get a hand vise.
Anyone struggling with any staggered whatever, do yourself a favor and learn to float that shit in there then you'll be able to build anything.

Bob that's not the spirit the guy is new to coil building o_O
tips on how to improve it and encouragement are in order, we all start somewhere, I don't know the first thing about doing braids properly yet I'm waiting for lizard to nail the process then do it on claptons :)

Lizard I saw these on Pinterest (not my coil) been wanting to make it ever since this is what the claptons look like braided this is what to aim for I reckon coil porn or what!

Can you make claptons yourself? 28g core 38g wrap should allow them to braid easier than thicker stuff

Forgot i used 26g instead of 28 so made a single coil on pharaoh.. Woulda came to about .11ish to .09ish in duals on goon and although my dna250 wouldnt mind it it just would be to hot for my tastes. Anywho.. 26G kanthal, stagger is 36g kanthal fused with 36g ss316l and 5x .5 kanthal ribbon. All KP wire

What?! 22/26! That's not even clapton.
Don't buy wire from a store...just get on kbee wholesale and get some practice 38g and 40g, $20 for 3000'. Core wire, fuse wire and ribbon I get all over but Coil Society is where I get most of my core and some ribbon. Great stuff.

If you can make me a Clapton smaller than 26 30 I can make you n kingpin braided claptonss that should be a respectable ohm or dual or single coil if there enough ill braid my ass off for a few sets of coils for peeps on here standard length for two coils 4 wrap 6 strand is about 3 strands at 2- 3 feet long if I do a 3 strand about foot long each

For a braid you'd want 28/40 clapton if you use a regulated mod or it'll be way too big.
For a mech you'd probably want the same but n80 or SS cores.

This what I basing math of gauges for a Clapton 20170524_201853.jpgbraid this a 6 strand 28g ss dual is .15 n yes the cap fit n this was squished into the avocado 24 so if I can find a really small gauge Clapton I can prob have same ohms with less wraps

I was basing that on 6 strand builds I've seen before. 5 or 6 wraps, 3mm, 28/40g.
