Great work as always shred! You're a master with the aliens dude!
Starting a new gig Monday so I'll be coming to you soon for some aliens brother! :D
Hey man I can send you a starter package and you can just hit me back whenever it's no big deal. No need to wait. Just DM me and tell me how you like to vape and what kind of vape you like and we can get something together for you. Whenever you get around to the postage is fine with me I know you're a good guy. And btw they are Fraliens:teehee::vino:.

Pegleg Meg has been dealing with some personal issues of late. I'm hoping she's well and hopefully we'll see her back here soon.
The fact that she's not been here has affected me. Whatever she is going through, I know deep down inside she's a good person. She's also one of the only females to have the balls to light this male dominated space on fire. I think it's important when she comes back that we do not make a big deal out of her being absent. There's a handful of builders that are a constant influence on this forum. She was one of them. Let's all hope together that she makes it through whatever obstacles lay ahead of her.

Wd40 is a penetrating liquid. Putting some fresh oil on it after the wd is needed 2. As the wd stripped all crapped up old lube out.

I put just WD40 on my swivel once a week, just WD40 and the thing has lasted me for two years, I don’t do nothin else, no coconut oil, no vegetable oil, no Gastrol, no perfume, nothin. Spray WD40 on a swivel once a week and try to get it to stop spinning. I have over 200 build posts on this forum and they’ve all be done with the same swivel. I dunno maybe I got a magic swivel.:giggle:

Sounds good dude. Had a few beers yesterday so waiting for my brain to come around before I send you a message, lol. I have alot of new gear coming in the mail soon ( some arrived yesterday :D ) so I need to think about what the new rotation will be. I was going to wait due to the stupid money I've recently spent but I will need some coils for the new attys to hold me until my wire gets here so I can pay you now, it's no problem.

Oh yeah, nice fraliens! :D

Very nice builds on the last posts, hands together to you guys.

I’m with my Sunday build: a .2 Razor SSFC on the top of a indented ;)

That arch stick is such a brilliant concept. It just works extremely well even though it doesn't seem like it should. Damn bro you just keep one-upping yourself time after time.

I don't have anything nearly as impressive. But we do what we do :D

Triple 40g interlock Enigma over 28 and .3. 2 different sized crimps: large on the outside and smaller on the inside. This baby is over 5mm wide! Probably use it somewhere down the road so for now it's just wireporn.

Be happy with that man....I haven't been able to nail an enigma in months...I guess if you dont use something or do it often then that's a skill that drops into the toilet.

I heard somewhere that for an enigma to be an enigma it has to be interlocked, but then if you have a single binded enigma... what is it?, a double sided Mohawk? The thing about interlocking enigmas is not that I’ve never been able to build one, I just think at times they can look messy or they can be spaced a little more than what I would like and that’s just a personal subjective opinion, not a fact, but it makes me rather do the single binded version. I guess everyone has different preferences. I’m not a great enigma maker to begin with I might hit one out of six or seven just for a single coil so.. ya know:giggle:.

Thanks man. Oh, I am pretty happy with it. I accomplished the goal of a 5mm, non traditional, build that I set out to do. And, yah It's been sometime since my last one. Luckily my prep was solid as a rock cause I had to re-wrap it a few times. First decore was to small. Thought about it after the fact but I should have tested the size before throwing all 3 strands in lol. Then I wasted 1/2 the good decore trying to find the right stretch. I don't really feel like I've lost the skill as much as am rusty. Keep at it man!

Extraordinarily clean! And with 40g too! You had to make it as hard on yourself as possible didn’t you:teehee:! Very beautiful thou. Would love to see It coiled up.:)

The single hump, on both sides, has pretty much cemented itself as an enigma, regardless of how many strands. Different people call different builds different things. Especially considering how young the craft is there's no real dictionary yet.

Yah adding strands to the wrap wire pushes the fuse into a spaced wrap a bit. It also adds a rigidity that can be both helpful and a pain in the ass.

Thank you sir :D

And actually I find 40+ is easier to interlock with. <=38 becomes pretty heavy when combining them together which puts tons of tension on the cores even with a good stretch. Hell ... 3x 40g has more mass than 32g.

Absolutely the way you do it is beautiful. I imagine the rigidity at least somewhat coming into play when you coil it up, to what degree I really cannot say.

Good points, Yeah I’ve done it with 38 and I know what you mean. I might try it with 40 just to see what happens. I’ve messed up coiling so many enigmas it makes me want to shoot my vice with a .44. JK

I will be highly surprised if this makes it into a coil without everything going to hell. The bottom dip of the wrap isn't covering the center corrugated at all. I expect it slide out and the whole thing implode on me. But we shall see.

I don't own a vice. I've always coiled with just a set of needle nose on the jig side and bare hand doing the wrapping. While my wraps aren't hardly ever perfect ... I've only destroyed a couple of builds during coiling. And all of them were because of poor prep and/or planning, which is my major concern for the most recent stick. I wrap the same way regardless of the build, well not entirely true ... I use the jig cap for naked wire. It's all about keeping consistent tension/pressure at the point where the stick touches the jig. And I find that staying close to the jig with my wrap hand is key. I don't ever grab the stick. Its more of a roll using my free hand to guide the wire and keep the tension. There's a clip of me coiling some mohawks, starting at about 8 mins into the video, from meg's speed challenge last year somewhere in this thread (and on my youtube). If you'll notice a finger/thumb is almost always on the jig holding the last wrap. This is the way I coil for every build.

The way you describe it, it makes me imagine a very refined process built off a lot of experience. There was a point when I joined this forum, towards the beginning when wrapping was my most major weakness believe it or not. I was at the point where I had learned how to do a fair amount of builds and I was really progressing, in the context of my own abilities, and I was making a lot of solid wires. But where I was failing was the wrapping process. I would almost ruin perfectly good wires just by rushing through the coiling process. It was a terrible feeling cause you do all that work to get like my first enigma, and then I’d just fuck it up completely on the last step. I don’t use a vice either, but I have learned to take a deep breath and really slow down the wrapping process. Which admittedly is still not perfect, but it’s good enough that I can sell coils and no one really thinks twice about it. It’s been a vast improvement. You’re a level above me but we have a lot of the same fundamental tendencies. I think that’s why I see so much opportunity to improve myself in a lot of your work.

We all have issues, right? But really...I moved and had a lifestyle change, and quit building. I've been vaping 22g kanthal coils for several months - the benefits of building complex coils are hard for me to see, and not worth the effort for myself

So you went from being one of the best builders on the forum to not seeing the benefit to what took you years create in terms of ability. That doesn’t seem like a natural thought process. I’m gonna be honest cause I have love for you, it sounds like an influenced thought process. Influenced by what? I don’t know. But you loved building and you knew you were good at it. Somewhere along the line something crept in. You can’t bullshit a bunch of bullshitters. If you truly saw no value in building why would you be logging on, but not posting, your looking at something. When a person loses all interest in a passion, it indicates something is not right. And I think everyone realizes it, no one judges you for it, and absolutely everyone loves and misses the old Meg. I know I do.
