What is a good material to wrap a drip tip that fits loose?
Since they can get hot being so close to the coils, I was concerned with taste and off gas from the heat.

If it's a friction fit tip it shouldn't need anything. They are meant to deal with that heat.
If it was too loose from day one, stick a bic pen up it and press it out a bit to make the fit tighter.

If you do use Teflon tape, use the yellow stuff meant for gas lines and heat but I wouldn't put that near a 500° coil and inhale.
