Pure Atomist Wire?

Anyone ever use Kanthal A1 that's branded as Pure Atomist? Looks like it comes from SoCal, but where is the wire made?

Found some really good prices for this stuff (~$12 for 250' of 26AWG on Amazon), but I've never heard of it. Temco price for the same thing is ~$23, and I know their stuff is primo.

Thanks in advance for the responses!

I like Lightening Vapes wire...works just fine...250' is a lot of wire, but I build a lot of coils at times ;)

Just never heard of these guys, and the prices are really good! Makes me wonder about wire quality...

I would think lightning vapes would still be the cheaper alternative then the amazon link you posted..... I have multiple rolls of every gauge you can imagine kanthal and nichrome.....35-40 different rolls... every single one is from lightning vapes... if your trying to nickel and dime yourself to death for the best prices on making your Clapton wire. I would order your 26awg from lightning vapes and order 1000ft spool of 38g kanthal D from ebay.. kingorchid is the seller ID. Its around 11$ for the 1000ft spool.... 10$ for 250ft 26k... 21$ and you can clapton your face off

Ok, I think I get it...

Nobody has ever used wire from Pure Atomist, and I'm better off just sticking with Lightening Vapes. At least that seems to be the consensus...

It has nothing to do with "pure atomist" wire.... thats just a name of a store and they decided to rebrand the packaging same as almost all others. Its not special wire or anything of that such... but I say just ignore the help youve been given by a few of us and buy that amazon special of "pure atomist" wire.

Now we're getting somewhere!

The PA wire is rebranded...expected as much...now I wonder where the stuff is actually made!

All I wanted to know is if anyone had ever used the stuff I was specifically asking about, and pretty much all I got was some other kind to buy instead for no real reason other than personal preference.

That's because almost all the wire we buy, is just respooled from who knows where.

If you want to know that specifically, you need to ask the respooler.

The Wire is alot like batteries, there are only a handful of manufacturers actually pumping the wire out and the rest of the "Brand Names" are just resellers with stickers and spools. The wires are all the same material and most are from the same company. A sticker doesnt make a product any different.
Looks for cheaper wire, Kanthal A1 is Kanthal A1, Kanthal D is Kanthal D, and so on. Kanthal D is usually cheaper if you can find it...

I have a couple spools of kanthal from pure atomist that I bought on Amazon. Works just fine, and I wouldn't hesitate buying from that brand again. Like ray said, it's all the same to me.

I buy from Ebay since its cheaper then most places for Wire, If I cant get spools of Kanthal D I usually get K.Bee brand. They sell at a decent price and they give you discount codes when you buy from them. I just bought some the other day and it arrived last night along with some juice, a Geekvape 521, a Black Griffin RTA and more!

Most wire Kanthal, Stainless, Nickel, and Titanium is made in China.

Just a little follow up on this one...just for shits and giggles, I decided to give these folks a try. Worst that could happen, I was out $11. Turned out not to be the case at all!

Package came in from Amazon really fast (even for a Prime Package). I decided to email them and ask about quality control, comparison to competitors, etc...and the response I got was pleasantly surprising. They pretty much confirmed what was stated here earlier, and I appreciate the honesty. Below is what I received:

"- Of course, we would always rate our product as number 1! In terms of other resistance wire suppliers, it is a bit difficult to compare as we are all selling the same product, it would kinda be like trying to compare whose water taste better, it's all water and comes down to a matter of preference! We do, however, put our wire through three additional purges (or cleaning processes) after the wire is received from our supplier: once when the raw wire arrives, once before it is spooled, and once as it is spooled.

- The raw metals used to produce our wire are sourced from across the globe. As for the metallurgical process, we use a Domestic and Overseas foundry depending on the demand. In order to ensure we receive optimal product from both suppliers, the owner of Pure Atomist spent some time with each of them and had the opportunity to see the wire created soup to nuts.

- There are certainly quality controls for all of our products including wire. The wire is checked through every stage of the process from receipt to packaging for the consumer / wholesaler. It is checked for resistance, diameter, impurities, etc.. In addition, the wire goes through an additional in house cleaning process as mentioned earlier."

Anyway, thanks for the earlier comments. Hopefully, this will be helpful to someone at some point ;)

I use the Pure Atomist 24 and 26g. Got it from Amazon. Works perfectly fine and the gauges were as labeled.

Got real happy when I saw this so I went to order 1000ft of 38g and in his description he said doesn't ship to new Jersey. I'm from new jersey. Then I looked farther and the guy is from new Jersey. Great just my luck lol I'm tired of buying 250 ft of 40g from lighting vapes for like $20

Why not buy from the company that makes the stuff...[TEMCo]
TEMCo is one of the few companies which offers true Kanthal. As in Kanthal from Sandvik whom they source their material from.

i ordered PA 24ga kanthal a1 50 ft spool with 20 OCC pads for 8 dollars even. They even include free shipping! I am a noob to the rda/rba scene and ive read about lightning, temco, and kbee. From my understanding it is all on personal preference. My local shop says he uses the same wire but a 22ga and allowed me to vape his mod for a sample run/try. I found no difference between PA and the KBEE that he had set up for me to make a decision. I would pull the trigger on this deal anyday!

Just wanted to say that I can go through 1000' of 32g and 36g in about a month no problem. I work at a vape store and do a considerable amount of builds for my friends also. Needless to say that I've gone through allot of wire, most of which has been from Pure Atomist, and I have yet to come across a problem. From what I've heard of the kind of problems that can be associated with spools of wire, Pure Atomist both in wire quality and customer service have been beyond excellent.
Just wanted to chime in. Much love vape fam.

thank you all for this prolonged conversation and that reposted email from the supplier by KY_Rob .... just bought some Pure Atomist wire and not only did this thread ease my thoughts on my purchase... I actually learned something....

Temco junky myself.
Lightning vapes kind of turned me off with the filthy wire. Was looking like I was at the NV casinos of old with a bucket of nickels from making a single coil.

At that point and currently would rather stick to one I trust.

Pure Atomist wire is decent wire, for Kanthal that is (haven't tried their SS). It's clean, good price and handles well. I'm not sure where they source their wire from but it's a lot better wire than UD and other wire I've gotten.

My preferred Kanthal wire which I've verified is Sandvic
  • Kidney Puncher
  • Atomiser Wick
  • Temco

My preferred SS wire which I've verified that is Smelted in Sweden and Milled here in the U.S.
  • Atomiser Wick - 317L
  • Kidney Puncher - 316L

My practice wire I use
  • Pure Atomist
  • Temco

I used to get my practice wire from KBee, still have a bunch of SS from them. I ordered some Kanthal from them both from their website and eBay, it was filthy and turned my fingers black. I mean it was bad, worse I've ever seen. I contacted them and they said "oh, I'll let my people know", basically they just told me to fuck off. I won't get any more wire from them.

I haven't been building as long as others, I picked up a spool of 316L ss from UD and had no issues with it. It didn't turn my fingers black or anything, wiped the wire down with a little isopropyl alcohol and nothing came off it. Maybe their other wires are different, idk. Then again I have no idea what foreign plant the flatware I use came from and I shove that crap in my piehole repeatedly day in and day out. lmao.

Maybe I'm just not that picky. I also drink water from the tap :p I like to live on the edge.

I am building coils for local vape shop when have free time from work. I use only pure atomist wire, since they have best wholesale service for shops and quality is outstanding, all resistances settle down as it needs to. I go through 500FT of 26GA K-A1, 28GA, 26-28GA Ni80 each a month. also about 1000FT or 0.4, 0.5mm ribbons. what about outer wrap nichromes i go through 3000ft of each 34.36.38.40GA each month usually :) Coils last for 2-3 months with proper care, nobody complains, whole vaping community is happy and my hobby brings me some additional revenue per month, so i don't bother trying DIY juices. only buy premiums

Check out my instagram for some pics #Alexbuilds
