hey guys i just ordered sony vtc5A on ebay(i know this is a very stupid idea but the guy who i ordered had so many good reviews and the price seemed right it wasnt too low to be a fake or too high)
The link where i ordered it from
http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Sony-Kon...35A-NK078-GB-/391457479640?hash=item5b24af1bd
And when i recevied it i looked at the logo and it was too big so i did some research but didnt find much the only thing i found was a site that sells the same looking batterie as mine.
https://www.imrbatteries.com/sony-vtc5a-18650-2600mah-25a-flat-top-battery/
The batterie looks excalty as my one. Can someone pleas confirm is this a real sony vtc5A? Or just some rewrap?(does it atleast look like the real one?

I have read it and i read it again just to be sure but still this is just the vtc5.
I have vtc5A. I checked everything. I even went to a diffrent vapeshop and they said the logo was as big as the text. I went to batterybro website to check the date on this it was 2015 14 Dec. The only thing thats been bugging me about these batteries is that the logo is as big as the text. Most batteries ive seen on the web is diffrent its smaller but i found imrbatteries selling the same kind of battery where to logo is as big as the text. Can anyone confirm if this is possible or its an 100% fake?

hate to use ECF as source : lol but Fakes tend to have a shiney wrapper as well to see an example look at the post https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/f...-additional-markings-and-clearer-wrap.766517/

also read moochs test results https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/the-sony-vtc5a-is-not-a-35a-battery.733555/
another good general way to spot a fake

I posted a picture its not really shiny but it does have a diffrent kind of color, its more of a matt finish. The QR code looks like a real one the date matches with batterybro website and i asked the ebay user if it was real or not he said it was real and its illegil to sell fakes. I was pretty convinced they are real. And i also checked with a local vapeshop who sells vtc5a he said it prettymuch looks the same as theyres but he didnt want to say it was 100% he said that its prob 90% i got a real ones. And the link u posted and its the same it also has the warning label and extra 5a so maybe it is a newer batch. But noone can confirm if its real or not. If its truly a fake that is truly scary cause it looks so much like the real one.

Those images are useless.
The fact that a battery looks authentic on the outside doesn't mean that it's authentic, just that the faker did a good job with the wrap.
To get authentic batteries, but them from an authorized/well known/respectable battery supplier and not from ebay.

I know what ur saying but the battery wrap is not the way u can fake it u need the battery to look excatly the same as an original vtc. Which is possible but still to find an excat replica of a vtc is not that easy.(i am assuming)

the only true advice i can give. if you have any doubt to their authenticity dont use them in unregulated devices and if you use them in a regulated dont push them over 10A. or dont use them at all and follow nightshards advice

I can't help on if your batts are authentic, just wanted to add one thought. If I were looking for a European battery source I would check out Torchy The Battery Boy. He has been around a while and has a very good reputation on the UK Vapers forum.

Good luck with it!

just from the looks i would say there legit but i still would break them in slowly and treat them like a vtc5a based of moochs test results and you should be fine
