replacing mosfet irlb3034

i need to build box mod so can i replace mosfet irlb3034 with IRF1404 "HEXFET Power MOSFET - 202A,40V,0.004 Ohm"

They are both n channel mosfets with similar ratings. You should be fine with the substitution. However the other has a proven track record in diy box mods so I would go with the the 3034

i know that 3034 is commonly used but i could not find any supplier in my country. the best one i found is IRF1404 so i asking for replacement.

can i use the same 15k resistor with it?

Yes, use the same value of resistor in the same configuration

The power/temp rating is always confusing - the power it can handle depends on you being able to keep the casing temp at the rating (i.e. 25C) so you either heatsink it to the box or you burnt finger test it first to see how hot it gets under expected load and power. It is probably OK.
