I am new to vaping. I feel throat pain whenever I vape and it feels different than the throat hit you get from smoking cigarettes. I have a Vaporesso sky solo starter kit with a new 0.18-ohm gt meshed coil and Vgod Cubano liquid VG/PG Ratio: 70vg/30pg 3 mg nicotine. I've tried my friend's vape with e-liquid having the same concentrations and I didn't feel this irritation. I vaped for several days to see if things get better, but nothing has changed. I think it is caused by its power, but I can't change it. Please help

It is likely from ingredients in your juice aren't agreeing with you if your friend's vape is a different juice with the same Nic level

It is rare but it does happen

well i would rule out the difference between your setup and your friends.

try his juice with a new coil if you can....
try your juice with his setup

also see if your coil material is different some people are sensitive to the metals in the wire or mesh.

Some metals definitely can wreak havoc on people who don't know they have a sensitivity for sure

If you still have a problem with different juice, it is highly likely the coil

    Thank you. Will GT2 0.4 ohm coil (40 - 80W / Best 55 - 65W) work fine if I changed from the 0.18 gt mesh coil 40-80(B: 55-65W)

Was your friend using the same atomizer and coil?

If not, it is probably the mesh you are sensitive to, and the higher ohm may or may not make a difference if it is the same metal

Your sore throat is because you do not have the 6,999 other chemicals in the cigarettes you used to smoke which numb your throat. Wait 2 weeks or so and then vaping will not make your throat sore or make you cough. This is from PERSONAL Experience from a 40 Plus year smoker. Good Luck.

You're thinking it's caused by the power, and it could be.
If without spending $, and you've tried what's been suggested, you might like the lessor powered .4Ω coil, and maybe with a regulated mod instead of the unregulated Solo.
What resistance is your friends coil? And, if they're using a regulated mod - what wattage did you like when you vaped it?

    Couple things at play.

It's a new sensation for your throat so it will take time to get used to. Plus any time you make drastic changes in vapor production you will have to go through it again. Coughing is normal during this time and coughing a lot can result in a sore throat which gets irritated far easier. Both lower power and higher ohm coils can reduce vapor production to make the switch less drastic. I've found that taking a drink of water before taking a hit eases throat irritation a bit.

The flavors themselves could be the culprit. Looking it up, the liquid you mention is a tobacco vanilla. It could be the tobacco, but vanilla has many very different variations so simply looking at the numbers there would be a higher chance of a sensitivity to whatever vanilla is used in the liquid. Plus the manufacturer may have other ingredients in it. The overall flavor may be a tobacco vanilla but it could be a blend of several tobaccos, several vanillas, and some other stuff. Easy way to see if it's the liquid is to try a completely different liquid such as a plain fruit from a different brand and see if it still happens. As an example, I mix my own liquid and there is a flavor called Catalan Cream which I can not use. It ends up being the only thing I can taste no matter how little is used in a recipe and it makes me sick to my stomach. I'm very sensitive to it.

Coil material is a possibility. Try his liquid on your coil and try your liquid on his coil. See what happens.

Not all juice is created equal. As a rule, due to sensitivity I vape 3-5 mg per mil. Sometimes yhe juice is irritating at the 4-5 mg per mil range. A few I vape at 10 mg per mil and enjoy it. The higher nic I vape the more satisfaction for me. But some flavors are an irritant to me. Experiment and find your juice. There is one out just for you. Diy is my friend when I need a solid nic fix. 90 vg 10 pg at 12 mg per mil. Unflavored.

I think that the tobacco flavor is a factor because he tried mine and said it isn't as smooth as his juice.

Your .4 coil will be closer to 45w than the higher powered .18

try lower PG content in your juice, lower watts and more air, and drink water, constantly.
