Ya just the door n button are up currently. Hopefully the body soon! Being in the states it doesnt make much sense for me to buy one from their lists vs printing my own.

So I have three Wasp Nanos coming in the mail today. I've read that they're pretty airy for a single coil rda so I'm thinking about a staged heating coil.

Normally I use a 316L 28/36 fused Clapton that ohms out to about .38 and I still plan to use that but I'm debating between 26g and 24g for the round wire in between. Probably need to throw a couple extra wraps.

Can anyone advise me? I'll be running it on a single 18650 squonker. Looking to hit about .25 ohms.

For single coil? I personally not sure. I used fused claptom 26x32. And on my pulse 22, 5 wrap. Makes it about.4-.5 ish. After heating it up and such.

Sorry I should have been clearer. I plan to run my normal 28g core fused clapton in parallel with round wire to cut down ramp up time and to get the resistance lower because the Wasp Nano is so airy.

So your fused Clapton.. With 28g wire wrapped with it? If so then that would be easier. Hold on..

In other words, you'll stage your fused clapton. Got it!

Broscience was the only place I knew who had the squonk ones in the US... although they are out stock atm. I should of bought more than 2 when I did...V2 Molly got one, and my new Molly got the other lol.... now My Orca will arrive and everything will be ready...but a 510 *facepalm*

Yeah I'm wondering if I should use 26g or 24g to wrap parallel with the fused Clapton.

How low are you trying to get?

This is what I came up with if you did a 26x2x36N80 3mm 5wrap Fused with 24N80 in parallel...

I've been getting into the idea of a shapeways print and a mm510 and doing my own mech instead of paying $150+ on FB. The only thing stopping me is not being much of a "hands on" person.

If I pick a shapeways mech that was designed for the mm510, then I will have no need for any drilling or tools except to to cut a copper contact from a sheet, correct? Dont own a drill to drill out a 510, or proper tools to cut copper, but its soft enough I'm sure I could make due.

Correct...sort of...

Even with the hole in the mod sized for the 510, you will need to drill out the top contact for the 510 to attach to via locking nut...other than that its cut to fit the contacts add a battery and vape...

Outside of Shapeways, there is Floris Delfino's boxes ( Orca's ) which you can get pre -drilled also...Mine ended up being 45 Euro for a white 20700 with door and predrilled.

Ah! I forgot about the need to drill out the actual top contact. That'd be the stopping point for me without owning a power drill.

I do like the orca bodies as I'd prefer Delrin over a 3d print. I really like the new armageddon squonks, seem great for the price, but cant live with the transparent doors. Emailed them and they have no plans for alt doors :(

I mean you could do it without a drill still...draw the circle on the contact, and then just cut into the circle from the narrow end that would face the button. but that would be a really rough cut without using Sheet Metal snips... Could always Douche it up and go to Home Depot/Lowes and just use a drill there LOL Probably just have to buy the $5 step down drill bit and be like, BBBZZZZ DONE!! and leave hahaha

Just make sure if you go that route, not to try and drill through a tiny piece of copper only, but the sheet itself so it doesn't spin on you and take a finger off ;)

I do love my silly plastic boxes :D
The button didn't agree with me on this one, I ended up swapping it for red when I got the resin door... I'm going to build another with an ultem button for this gold door and another stabwood door I have waiting.

Ordering some stuff going to try my hand at modding. Trying a 3d first. If that goes well I'm getting a 20700 orca. Seems to be battery of the future.

As of later today ill have 3 3d printers so don't be bashful if you find something you like. I'm not the greatest at making my own files yet but I'm workimg on it. Until then there's plenty out there that have already been made.

Not my best work, but it definitely works and works well. I'm really liking the Wasp Nano with the AFC damn near closed... flavor's good, it's really hard to over-squonk, and the top cap never gets uncomfortably warm.

My sentiments exactly! I'm going to get one of every color lol. Just, cause. I really like the gorge too with same thing, airflow closed WAY down. BUT, my issue is I haven't really made a coil I like yet. I have a 3 wrap 3mm id 3x28/36 SS316L in there atm and it's just slightly not warm/hot enough for me. Now I can do similar with 26 gauge and 5ish wraps, but then I worry about the ramp up...

Awesome! If this wasp gets popular I might jump in the band wagon lol

Yeah ramp up can be an issue and that's why I made the staged coil. It takes a maybe a second or so, but it freaking puts out the flavor once it gets there.

It's got a reputation for being one of the best affordable squonking RDAs. It's maybe got too much airflow seeing as I only have it open a millimeter or two and the posts are a little far apart, but aside from that I REALLY like it so far.

I'm thinking you might want another turn on that coil, increase the contact/surface area between the coil and the wick. If you stage it, make sure you end the coils the same way: say your clapton has 4 wraps and you stage it with 26 g wire. The 26 starts on the outside of the clapton and ends on the outside at the other end.

I tend to like SS coils on mechs, they retain heat a little longer so your second hit will be better and heat-up a bit shorter.

Sorry man, I missed your post but I think I just answered it! I tend to use round wire of roughly the same diameter as the clapton (not just the core) so probably the 26g would work.

No worries! I wound up using the 26g and it's a great vape!

I'm thinking you might want another turn on that coil, increase the contact/surface area between the coil and the wick. The 26 starts on the outside of the clapton and ends on the outside at the other end.
The only issue is that even at as few wraps as it's at, it's still .17 when totally cool and goes up in res because it's SS. I'd like it .12 - .15. To do that with more wraps will take fatter wire and then, ramp up time. As is though. it's a warmish vape that has basically no ramp up time.

Having no xp with staging something. I can't imagine what I'd stage it with or what it'd vape like. Def I think a coil with more contact with the cotton would be better, but I can't enjoy a .20 + ohm build on a mech single 18650. I also have no patience for ramp up times lol. When I press the button I want the damn thing to vape. Regulated mods have me more spoiled than I know.

Edit: So Kinda answered what I should stage with as I was writing this reply. Just stage it with some 26?
