Staple Staggered fused Clapton HELP!

OK I've been vaping a few months and mastered pretty much every type of coil I've tried to make with the exception of the staple staggered fused clapton, I can make the wire but as soon as it comes to wrapping it it simply will not bend around a bit at all!? I've come to the thinking that maybe it's the flat wire I'm using or maybe I'm missing something else so here for all the help I can get on making this finaly.

I'm using 316l SS 26g for the frame claptoned in 34g SS with 0.1m x 1mm flat core 5 pieces stacked vertically then fused in the same 34g SS.... anything wrong with those materials for this coil? Was thinking maybe my core wire is to wide but honestly haven't got a clue now and don't want to order .5mm ribbon if that's not the problem. Any help would be great...

Holy Mass of metal, I bet it's like trying to coil rebar. I would definitely downsize everything.

yea that's kinda my problem thing is I make staggerd fused Claptons out of that all the time just the second I ad that annoying stack of ribbon that's hard enough to get to sit where I want it to it becomes impossible to wrap. Is the clapton low enough? I mean at 34 it's pretty much like a hairs thickness if I lower the clapton core to 28g maybe?

I like to use 38 and 40 on most my stuff. I just ordered 1000' of each. Then again I just started building not to long ago and don't have tons of experience. I know raymo uses really tiny stuff for most of his stags. I would say try 28-30 for the frames and 38-40 for the wraps and .8-.5 ribbon. SS is a stiff metal, downsizing would definitely help.

PS. Hop on over to the post your builds thread and show some pics of what you have made. It's a fantastic thread, just post after post of outstanding builds.

You need to push it around the bit or pinch it and wrap it as closely to the bit yu can all the while keeping pressure on the wire the entire time.

Also using thinner wire makes it so the ribbon is held more tightly vs a thicker wire. Having many thin wire holding the ribbon tighter makes it easier to coil up without problems. I like using 38g and 40g for the stagger and 40/42g/44g for the fuse...

There beautiful!! I seriously cannot get this coil mastered now I've shrunk the inner wire to .5ss316l I can't get the ribbon straight how do you straiten the ribbon so it's easier to stack vertically?

OK so stretched the wire and stacked it using @raymo2u vg oil method did 6 x .4 rw 28g frames staggered in 34g and fused with 40g, now when I wrap instead of the wire but link in on Its self the ribbon bursts out the back!? This builds seriously aggravating! Any tips you can give me @raymo2u?

Do you mean to say the ribbon popped out of the 40g fuse in the middle? If so maybe try 36g or 38g instead of 40. I'm still trying to get this build down myself. I'm using the same 28g frames and either 4 or 6ply .4 ribbon and 36g for wrap. I'm still having trouble with the staggering bit at times, and others I get the staggering but ribbon twists on the inside. Could be how I'm prepping. I've never experienced problems wrapping staples and framed staple/fraliens with .4 ribbon though. Originally it just sounded like your ribbon was too big IMO if it was .1mmx1mm most people I've seen use .1x.3 up to .1x.5.
