Tfv8 on a 50w question#2

I got a 50w battery and a few atomizers that are factory built for 50w and up, so 50w pretty much doesn't cut it. I'm planning to rebuild the atomizers to work for my 50w range batteries. My 26awg Kanthal is coming in the mail but I'm tempted to order some 50w range Clapton as well. I got some juggernaut coils that I blindly ordered at eBay and now find are too thick for 50w. A friend suggested I get twisted coils or single core claptons but idk what specified names to find those coils under such as Alien, juggernaut, tiger wire, etc. I need an experienced referral I guess because they're all pretty thick. I'm thinking I'll stay in the 32g and 28g combination range maybe, but I'm not sure if those numbers mean exactly what I'm thinking.

Use Tiger wire, made with 26 gauge. You want the coils to be at .5 Ohms upwards to fully utilize the 50 watts.

I'm looking over the Tiger wire specs. It says they're .3 ohms...however the Helix are .4, and the Hives are .5 they say...Are you saying the manufacturers measurements varry to the coils actual performance on a vape?

Your getting hung up on OHM rates.. You gotta remember that not all .5ohm coils are the same.. You can make a .5ohm coil from a single strand of 26awg wire. It will vape nothing like almost any clapton or multi wire coil also wrapped to .5ohms. Now granted they will both need the same amount of power to reach 50 watts but the single strand will have a much higher surface temperature while still potentially generating less heat. Because there is less metal transmitting heat.

So claptons are what I need, but I also need to know how the .3ohm tiger wire translate to a 50w limited battery in case I'm ordering the wrong ones, right?

What gauge wires are used in construction? You running them as single coils or dual.?

Is the regulated 50 watts or max output of unregulated device. Just curious never heard of a fixed 50 watt mod.

Maybe the "limited" was extra. It's a variable v & w, max 50wattage device...

Approximate resistance of each coil (FeCrAl):

  • Ribbon Twisted Clapton (26g): 0.15 ohm
  • Juggernaut (32g/26g): 0.25 ohm
  • Single Juggernaut (32g/26g): 0.4 ohm
  • Staggered Fused Clapton (32g/26g): 0.3 ohm

With 50 watts you will be marginal or too low power for most of that liist... start with the smaller coils 26/32. 24/32 the notches work up to the Fused and Para and twisted fancier builds.

Those are bigger coils then the last list. Like I said start with some basic claptons with 26 28 or 24 core and 30 or smaller wrap. Those work out and you have some wattage left to play with.......try something more fancy.

So you don't think the 28gauges and 32gauges and 26's on these lists would do it?

IDK. If i wanted to try claptons I would start with a single cored 26 or 28 maybe 24 wrapped with 1 32 or smaller wire. If i like it or need more powerful coil. I would try something using more wire next. Fused or parallel core builds maybe twisted wrap ect.

Only suggesting to start with the smaller mass builds.. due to the 50 watt limit.
