The magic question!

I am new to vaping. I am currently using a Smok Stick V8. I am happy with the cloud and the flavor.

I do not like the tank as the glass breaks to easily, i would like a setup that has a changable battery, and is compact and durable enough to keep in my pocket. Another problem i am having is leakage (from the tank smarta**es. Lol).

A setup that is plug and play is best but if there is a coil that i would not have a hard time to build i am not afraid to see if it is something i could try, as i understand building is more cost effective.

I know there will be a lot of answers but i am looking for suggestions. I need a solid hasslefree setup. Not something i have to tinker with constantly.

Thanks,
Noob vaper

Welcome to the forum.

I really know nothing at all about that set up, but for the size you describe, the Eleaf Pico mod is really compact. I keep mine in my back pocket while I'm at work. Not sure of the power range you think you might be interested in, but it comes as a starter kit, or mod only, at 75 watts. You use your own battery, too.

Tanks, I'm no help with the plug and play. I like the rebuildable ones and I'm a mouth to lung vaper, rather than direct to lung.

You'll get lots of responses, but I did want to welcome you.

Enjoy your time here

Thanks for the fast response. I have been reading the glossary of terms. Hopefully i can figure out what mouth to lung is compared to direct to lung. Lol. Total noob.

Sorry, yeah MTL, mouth to lung is like how you draw from a cigarette. DL is more airy and inhaled straight to your lungs,no stopping point at your mouth, kinda like how you'd inhale from... other stuff we don't go into here, LOL.

Great review on the Liqua Cube Smokie. Defiantly a contender, especially for my wife. The lack of threads is definitely a plus. Easy peasy. As a techie the pico mod definitely has my intrests peaked. Love bells and whistles.

I guess the next question would be about rebuildable tanks. What is a good starter?

Edit: I may actually pass on the rebuilding at the moment. Just browsed throuh the rebuilding threads and my head is spinning. Still open to suggestions though. Just a lot of info and research to be done. Lol

Ok. I have 2 main atty o use and some backups. main mod is a Pico 75......... backup is mech.

Mech has para 28ss at about .35 in a Hobo 2 dripoer....

PICO Nectar RTDA 26ss at .55. AVOCADO 28ss at 1.1ohm. KAYFUN at .67 twisted 30ss. All run st same wattage and TC setting. Call it a 17 watt average using VW and TC..

Everything I have gets carried in my pocket. None leak if wicked and used correctly.

Fact Is I have yet to see an atty that will not leak.... I also have yet to use a Rebuildable atty that leakage could not be controled or eliminated on. CLEAROS??? coilhead using atties..
Never had one that didn't leak.

Oh god, yeah that's a really intimidating area, especially if you're looking at the coil porn threads, LOL!! BUT... you can keep it simple, too, and with great results doing so. At least with even my own feeble coils, I get fantastic flavor. Maybe that has to do with the single coil tanks that I use, for the most part, but even when I've needed a dual coil, I've gotten really good flavor. Good enough for me.

What kind of draw do you think you'd prefer? Tighter, like a cigarette, way more airy? Even in-between is available. I like the in-between type of airflow, but I still vape it mouth to lung.

Defiantly dont like the "cigarette" feel. I quit smoking 12 years ago and defiantly prefer a more "vapey" feel. My goal is to vape ro enjoy vaping. Its more of a hobby than a necessity. I guess the best i can describe it is i like a draw that i dont have to work for but still get good flavor without draining half my tank.

The appeal for rebuilding is so i can have stuff on hand if i burn out my coil. Which i am great at doing

LOL, makes sense. You might actually like the in-between stuff. I keep those closed down to the lower end, it's not a tight draw at all. They can be opened up quite a bit more than what I do.

I'll let others share their picks on tanks, but if you do some shopping around for rebuildables, The Geekvape stuff might be up your alley. You never know, you might keep the plug and plays as back up. The flavor from rebuildables is outstanding.

You don't have to go crazy to build coils. Wrapping wire around a screwdriver is simple and works great. You can do that for awhile while you learn how to make simple Claptons and then whatever you like.

Yes!!! I have watched some great tutorials on YouTube. I will defiantly be starting rebuild coils. And the claptons look like they will take practice but also look simple enough.

Claptons look somewhat involved, but chances are you'll get bored half way through making one, not that difficult. Single wire coils are a breeze, especially with a coilmaster diy kit with a jig.

As said you will see many different suggestions, mine would be a reasonable priced squonker like the hcigar vt inbox. With squonking you use an rda so no leaking (unless you over squonk) and is made of metal no glass. It has a juice bottle in the device you press with a finger when needed to saturate the cotton so you don't have to constantly drip, and holds more juice than most all tanks.

I would suggest the baby alien with the baby beast tank, its a single battery mod that will fit in your pocket and has either a 3 ml or 4 ml tank (my memory sucks lol so I'm not sure which one) you can get a RDTA for it. my wife loves hers

If I had seen your review of this earlier I would have gotten this instead of the Innokin Kroma.
Heck I might still get this!
It kind of reminds of the Aspire Plato a bit.I had 1 of those and loved the way it vaped. But cleaning the tank was a complete pain in the ass.So much so that I quit using it.
This thing looks so much easier to deal with.

That is one of two of my vacation or travel kits I use because it holds 10 ml, internal battery, great vapor hits, with being kind of stealthy in size.

A really nice all in one is the Joyetech Penguin! Vapes nice, is lightweight and no leaking or spitback! They came out with a newer version that has the juice window! Hubby has been using that for months and really likes it with the .6Ω coils- I like the .25Ω- hold over 8mls of liquid!
This vapes really nice and is affordable and so are the coils and easy to change ,and spare tanks are affordable too!
One of my favorites is the Kanger Nebox- I have no leaks with mine(make sure the coil is in tight and I keep on its side), uses a 18650 battery and the coils are cheap and easy to get! I have used mine for about a 1 1/2 years, and bought 2 more to keep in my stockpile! That thing goes everywhere with me- holds 10mls of liquid and I have seen these on sale for under $15.00!
Best of luck- so much gear on the market, its hard to know what will work best for you till you try it! I try to buy when good sales are going on, usually during main holidays!

I never travel with loose batteries especially out of the country that is why I only bring mods with internal batteries.

The Joyetech Penguin has 2000 mAh internal battery!
I never travel outside of the US, but good point on traveling with batteries- My spares are kept in a plastic battery case! Plus I use an external charger for the 18650's an added item to lug around, I try not to use the USB port!

No no no! We cannot encourage squonkers this month. There has been an outbreak of insanity from their corner of the asylum and their privileges were suspended. :) ;) :p

Actually, I too will suggest squonking. It is fairly straight forward after a bit of a learning curve. Much more enjoyable imho than using tanks.

I still enjoy the HERAKLES PLUS SUB-OHM TANK which I will use during vacation. Just ordered 4 packs of coils for it yesterday.
