Wouldn't this still have to pass the Senate and be signed by the governor before it can be put into law?

Either way, sounds like Massachusetts needs to get rid of those massholes in the next house election.

Massachusetts needs an updated version of the Boston tea party.

To think, Massachusetts started the revolution over the taxation of a breakfast beverage. #makesnosense

Wow...........unbelievable. That is some bullshit right there. Remind me to never, ever go to Massachusetts.
Yep if you vape they may take your car.

Need a warning sign at every roadway entering MA.
Warning if you vape turn around or we will take your car.

this right here says they can take your house.

a police officer who "discovers an untaxed electronic nicotine
delivery system in the possession of a person who is not a licensed or commissioner-authorized electronic nicotine delivery system distributor" may seize both the product and the "receptacle" in which it is found, "including, but not limited to, a motor vehicle, boat or airplane in which the electronic nicotine delivery systems are contained or transported."

Amazing how those civil forfeitures work on regular people but not on corporations...
Find drugs on a commercial airliner and they do not seize it do they?

yeah, thats it. but it will never happen, not enough anyway. if hitler was a democrat, there would still be people voting for him. just the way it goes.

Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP translated as National Socialist German Worker's Party, more commonly known as Nazi. So, yes, they were most certainly closer to the US Democrats than any other ideology.

I'm from Ma and decades ago it began to be called Taxachusetts. Cambridge is called the People's Republic of Cambridge. I left there in 97 and don't miss it at all.

its not doubt and so obvious that the dems what a monopoly of the government, them in charge. and if that happens, we will then become "subjects" and "property" of the demoncrats . and anyone with any brains knows that monopolies are a BAD BAD thing.
we would then be returning to what George Washington etc saved us from.

The same George Washington that led more troops than in any revolutionary war battle for collection of the whiskey tax?
so has anything with regards to taxes in the USA really changed?
More widespread perhaps? But everything government related grows it seems.
I have heard talks of smaller government for decades but nothing has happened regardless of which party held power.

So if USPS or UPS or Fedex is transporting untaxed vape stuff across MA then they can seize their truck?

If it's a nice truck ;) Otherwise they wait for it to be delivered and brought into the house so they can get a bigger haul.

If they seize your house do they get all the contents including my cats and SO? I don't care if they seize my SO but I'll fight for my cats!

Someone will sue.

The legal question came down to whether states are barred from imposing such excessive fines. When the Bill of Rights (the first 10 amendments in the US Constitution) was ratified, it only applied at the federal level. But the 14th Amendment, which was ratified after the Civil War, promised to extend the constitutional rights to the state level too.

In 2018 the US Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that the Constitution’s ban on excessive fines, written into the Eighth Amendment, applies to the states as well — a sweeping ruling that strengthens property rights and could limit controversial police seizures, such as those done through civil forfeiture, nationwide.

Why the US Supreme Court’s new ruling on excessive fines is a big deal

Just that the govt under Washington took a serious view of not paying taxes too.
I mean he gathered more troops than was used in any revolutionary war battle to go and collect taxes on Whiskey.
Was collecting taxes more important than winning freedom from England?
Kinda trashed the whiskey as trade goods small businesses in early western America.
the distillers in rural america used whiskey as money and did not have actual money to pay the taxes, which was required under US law.

Remind you of vape shops that make ejuice and cannot afford to pay PMTA costs?

And that much of US freedoms is a myth.
in both Old and new history.

yep but neither was he equal to his saint like mythological figure he is painted to be in our school history books.
Just a normal human that did some extraordinary things to help found this country.

In any event, the saying "no taxation without representation." Started in Massachusetts
...methinks they forgot that part.

They have representation and the fools keep electing them.
Eternal vigilance is requited to keep freedoms.
And we have the government that we have elected.
It seems that most are not very vigilant.
