Sorry, Carmmond, with all the yada yada going on about the candidates almost everyone has missed the obvious.
Katy Perry is beautiful, talented, and she vapes. What more could anyone want in an entertainer? She has millions of dedicated young fans in Canada and she promised to move here if Donald Trump was elected. Her Canadian fans rejoiced on that news. Then they were dismayed when the polls indicated that Hilary Clinton was going to win and Katy would not be emigrating to The Great White North. Things changed when someone apparently "hacked" the election and Donald Trump won so Katy will be coming here after all.
The news reports say it was the Russians that hacked the election but it is hard to believe that some old Russian with a vacuum tube computer could have altered the result. It is far more likely to have been done by some young Canadian computer gamer that is also a Katy Perry fan. Some of these game machines have four 64-bit CPU cores, two-hundred-and-fifty-six 16-bit GPGPU cores, and one or more gigabit connections to the internet. Some gaming PCs are more than five-hundred-times faster than the first Cray supercomputers that the CIA used to have over in Langley.
This election was never about the U.S. presidential candidates but always about Canada getting a major singing star. If Katy had said she would have moved to Canada if Bernie Sanders was elected then you can guess who would be president now.

One of the most satisfying things for me has been watching the libs' heads explode as they keep trying to come up with a reason for losing that they can accept. This Russia thing is bizarre. No other word describes it. The Dems ran a socialist in the primary who almost won. Russia is a socialist / commie nation. They'd LOVE to have more socialism in the western hemisphere. It is one of their stated goals. Now the Dems want us to believe that Russia actually wanted us to elect a guy who's entire life has been anti everything the Russians believe in over one who would have kept the US going in the direction that they wanted us to go. The fact that they would help us do that is just absurd.
For the record, yes, I think someone in Russia probably did get into the DNC's emails. I believe that they probably tried to get into the RNC as well. The failure was John Podesta falling for the phishing email and giving the hacker his password. It wasn't even a real "hack". He was fooled. Plain and simple. I also know that we are trying to hack everyone all the time as well, so I don't see it as an effort specifically designed to elect Trump. They were trying to embarrass Americans, and they managed to do that to a large chunk of us. That is and was the goal. And no American voted for Trump because of the 'hacks'. I'd be willing to bet that a good number of Dems just couldn't force themselves to pull the lever for Hiliary because of all of the in your face incompetency, dishonesty, arrogance, and pompousness, though.

Uhm, no. The Soviet Union was, but collapsed under its own weight a quarter century ago. With pretty much everything having been privatized and a flat income tax rate of 13%, I don't see how Russia can possibly be considered "socialist" or "communist".

I was really speaking more to my belief that Putin would reinstate the old system if he had the chance. He's been maneuvering to put himself into position to do just that for a while. Folks in Russia don't make money unless someone in power wants them to.

First of all I really am a Canadian, Eh? Because of cable TV we are just as misinformed about U.S. politics as people south of the border but we are still not allowed to vote in the U.S. Go figure!
When I heard the claim that Russia hacked the recent presidential election it did not make much sense. Why would Russia prefer a capitalist like Donald Trump over a semi-socialist like Ms. Clinton or a socialist like Bernie Sanders?
Then I started thinking about which people would actually prefer a Trump victory. When I asked why a Canadian Katy Perry fan would prefer Donald Trump in the Whitehouse all the facts just clicked into place. So, if there was hacking it must have been done by Canadian teenagers and not the Russian KGB or whatever they are calling themselves now.

In a bizarre form of protest, University of California freshman Seth Greenberg has promised to publicly remove his penis (he did not specify the method of removal) if Donald Trump begins project work on the US Mexican border wall.

When Ms. Perry promised to move to Canada if Donald Trump won the election we had an international bilateral agreement. The contract was valid as soon as Donald Trump was elected and the conditions of the transfer were met. Modifying the terms of the agreement after the fact is not allowed.
