Picked this up at my local b&m today (along with a kanger tech Aerotank turbo...preview it tanks section) and can't wait to fire it up. Currently waiting on my one and only battery to charge. I will be comparing it to my tobecco stingray clone. First impressions, this thing is built FAR superior to the stingray clone. **MINOR UPDATE**
After firing up the onyx this morning I notice that my efest 18650 2500mah fits in the housing a little loosely compared to the stingray. I can hear it wobble around. Not a huge deal but definitely a minor annoyance. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417626687.335237.jpg

Very cool, thanks!

I saw one on a site, I think it was Focal, for a good price. But, I'm really hesitant to be an early adopter for Chinese gear.
Glad to hear it is nice. I could use a good copper mod to take the place of my janky King v2 Copper.

Interested on how good that paint/coating is, general QC and the switch reliability. Copper mods are so finicky...

Can't report quite yet, but I'd imagine it would be better than my stingray clone seeing how in the tobecco stingray the battery connections are NOT copper. The firing pin in the stingray bent after one drop on the bus, the onyx feels much sturdier and the lock unscrews down and covers the firing pin, hopefully making it a little more robust. Here's some close ups of the paint. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417577823.976533.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1417577923.092264.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1417577965.770746.jpg

Looking pretty good, nice pics too. :)

Yeah, I had a QC issue with the otherwise nice King v2 where the lock ring wants to seize up all the time..argh.
If the threads and fit are good on this I'll be tempted. :)

FWIW, here is where I saw the all-copper one for $29: http://focalecig.com/Product/Onyx-Styled18650-Mechanical-ModCopper-20493

I think FT has them also.
