uk supplier nic has changed nic salt

Hi VU

Receved a email a week or two back

They have now changed their nic salts to SALICYLIC NICOTINE SALTS

What? Is this type off salt ?

Does it still have the same instant type hit and does this still have the same short halflife as normal salts?

Is it safe for vaping???

Naturally occurring Nicotine is an alkaline prior to ionization. If Nicotine is treated with a mild, food grade acid, such as benzoic acid or salicylic acid which has a much lower ph of the alkaline Nicotine; the Nicotine becomes neutral, compared to your saliva (or very near it, depending on the exact ph of the acid). This allows for a much smoother draw, as well as faster assimilation into the bloodstream, because your body doesn't have to neutralize the ph of the alkaline Nicotine before absorbing it. Nic salts treated with salicylic acid is completely safe, and not a new thing. Most nicotine patches and gums have been using salicylic acid treated nicotine salts for a long time. Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Also, bear in mind that most marketed Nicotine salts are treated with "Benzoic acid". Salicylic acid is still a type of Benzoic acid, sometimes referred to commercially as "Hydroxybenzoic Acid". So use with confidence!

Also, to clarify; the lower the ph of non-ionized nicotine, the easier tissue membrane absorption. So by treating freebase Nicotine with a ph of 8.02 with a Benzoic acid with a ph of 3.11 lowers the ph of the Nicotine significantly, allowing easier membrane absorption and less "throat hit" because there is virtually no chemical reaction with your saliva in your throat. Saliva has a ph of 6.2-7.6.
