What have you tried out that seems like a bad idea? Here are three of mine:

A painted Troll RDA (painted inside and outside)...the paint WILL peel...I had a white one that began to peel, so I scraped and soaked it in denatured alcohol until all the paint was GONE!!

A coiling jig made from ALUMINUM...do I really want aluminum rubbing off onto my coils???!!!

An RDA with non-stainless post screws...yes, they will rust!! (Deadmodz Pyrex, will receive a new base, assured that the non-stainless screws issue has been resolved).

The aluminum coil jig would not worry me.

As I heat my coils to a nice cherry red for final forming on my decks which I am sure would remove contamination.

You're right about that. Guess I worried for nothing.

I may be wrong but I am pretty sure aluminum is one of the metals already in Kanthal wire.
