Basically, a timeline on current vaping related
Trump pulls back from flavored vaping ban
I think that Trump is so distraught over the impeachment thing that he will not spend time on a flavor ban for now.
Any delay is good so the impeachment may be good for vapers ?
or, gasp, he has common sense and actually knows what he is doing.
I stumbled across this today on our government website
Essentially the Canadian government is telling it's citizens that vaping is an effective way to quit smoking and goes as far as calling it a less harmful alternative.
He doesn't seem distraught and it doesn't look like there's anything inquiry-wise to be distraught over. Remember, it's not an impeachment, it's something dreamed up to see if they can get enough votes to call it impeach. Once voted on, if there's enough to call it that, then whether or not, or should I say where it won't hold up, is in court >the Senate.
My thoughts is the delay has nothing to do with inquiry. Maybe was going to sign flavor ban [same day as DC protest fly over] and decided not to? according to the article - but you have to consider the source of the article too so I don't believe nor disbelieve that part of it.
I think delay is about:
Weighing votes, businesses, jobs, forced black market, and he likes the idea of vape instead of smoke, and whatever else,,, vs save the kids, stop the outbreak.
He knows there should be a happy medium and just wants a path.
When everyone, lobbyists, groups, dept heads, want to take it all or leave just tobacco flavor, some creativity could be needed, like what he'll try to find out when a meeting happens. I'd like to see an "invited" list for that meeting.
I still have a bit of an issue with the jobs lost thing... since the majority of their sales is vape stuff not on the uS market prior to 8-8-2016.
The Deeming Regs is the ISSUE.
Well that and total bans like MA... Which go beyond the Deeming regs.
he has to be under some kind of stress, regardless of being THEE president, in that all of the complete BULLSHIT he has to endure form the coup crowd.
inquiry, yeah, a continued coup attempt . but just as much a smear campaign to make him look bad = less votes.
It’s like they’re just getting people used to the idea of nothing being available with Deeming. Or wanting us to welcome taxation as a saving grace. Both are terrible.
Just heard this morning that Trump is going to reconsider the flavor ban as he wants to look into what effect it may have on small buiseness and other aspects. There seems to be a small ray of hope there.
Right. Because who's still selling products from 11-12 yrs ago.
I agree deeming is the biggest issue. And why we still need to get it rolled into this meeting to see about getting it relaxed.
State bans & total bans? hehe, just like the kids they say they want to protect. Don't know any better, won't listen, and just want their way even when it's the wrong way.
Here's what Az where I live Gov says about it:
Gov. Doug Ducey said he believes that banning flavored nicotine-laced vaping liquids may not be a good idea.
The governor told Capitol Media Services that he wants to keep these nicotine products out of the hands of teens. And state and local health officials have argued that many of the flavored products are designed to entice young people to vape even though they cannot purchase the product legally in Arizona until they are 18.
But Ducey said he’s not convinced that flavors like bubble gum and root beer are designed solely to attract children.
Ducey also is taking a wait-and-see attitude to the question of how old someone should have to be to purchase both vaping and tobacco products even as some Arizona communities are moving ahead and imposing a minimum age of 21.
I just read that NY is going to vote on the Flavor Ban yet again, and they’re talking about vaping and ...you guessed it! Popcorn Lung in connection with these teens getting sick. Not black market carts, not counterfeit pods or whatever. Popcorn lung.
I don’t believe this shit.
Believe it. We are dealing with humans here.
I’m starting to dislike them!
Have some tums handy.
, that bad ?
I am so sick and tired of whiny, sniveling, bleeding heart "SAVE THE CHILDREN MY SAVIOR GOVERNMENT!!!" do gooders.
One in particular won a special achievement award in that event in this meeting. You'll have no problem picking her out.
I actually have more tolerance for the liars. They were well represented too.
i will listen, kinda watch it soon = gotta build and rewick a few. and find a juice recipe to make
I am not gonna watch it. will wait for the Cliff notes.
I watched most of it and I gained three things out of it
1. They admittedly know that it's illegal vaping products that are causing the illnesses and deaths.
2. They are legitimately concerned about the teen vaping epidemic.
3. There are a bunch of idiots with absurd ideas about how to control it!
It's really no different than smoking, you can regulate it all you want but if teens want to vape they are going to get it one way or the other.
Banning all flavors except tobacco is not going to do anything but cause a lot of vapers to go back to smoking!
Sent from a Galaxy far far away!
Did they even discuss the Deeming Regs and their impact on vaping?
Sick uploaded an article that actually mentioned Deeming, and how it’s a crappy idea. No, not written by vapers!
I’m so tired of hearing that it’s the flavors that are seducing kids into vaping. Juul sales tripled after they withdrew all of their flavors from the market.
That the American Cancer Society is for a flavor ban is just nauseating. They know people will return to smoking because of bans, and they don’t give a damn!
This is so insane, and years from now the people who were pushing for bans will be judged harshly imho.
Conley brought it up briefly by basically saying he was looking for a long term solution, not just one for now until the deeming regs kick in and kill off all but a few businesses with tons of money like juul and ijoy. Other than that it was only mentioned one other time by ijoys rep saying they have the money to survive a flavor ban and will make money regardless, in fact they would make more if the bans do happen because there would be little competition. But he also was fighting to get a long term solution involving the deeming regs. To be honest it seemed only Conley and ijoy were against the flavor ban.
It was brought up but not really focused on. There were several comments about this being a temporary solution based on the fact that the deeming regs would be in force in a short time, and costs millions to get a PMTA through, leaving the big 4 standing alone.
He seemed to listen, but there's far too many voices with BT money behind them. He did keep bringing up his concern for counterfeiting in flavors were banned. Overall, doesn't look good.
And then that shitheel Romney. What makes him an expert on vaping Asinine saying only 40k ppl work in the US vaping market ,,, and that 1/2 the school kids in Utah vape. When Conley called him on it he was like because he's from there he's the authority, even insinuating it's worse there because they are Mormon. Someone should have called him Pierre Delecto.
And then that anti kids vaping group lady. Saying 5mil school kids vaping and Conley told her that was wrong because the question was vaped in the last 20-30 days and she argued the point. But it was one of those times when others started interrupting and we don't know how much was actually listened too.
It's clear to me that because they don't live it every day like we do, a true fact finding [not face value] on the issues brought up would be good for vaping. It would disprove anti's lies.
Very VERY interesting and well worth the 15 minutes.
Good find. She needed to be at the meeting.....
that was good. except she focused much to much on a narrow group of vapers. i know that was "her" cause, but narrowing it down diminishes the argument..
I may not be onboard with her entire worldview, but she is on our side in this fight and well worth hearing. Though it's pretty certain she won't be given the least bit of consideration by the New York political machine.
Vape debate: Are e-cigarettes wiping out teen smoking?
"says Dave Dobbins, an attorney with the anti-tobacco nonprofit, Truth Initiative."
nonprofit ? psssst, my ass. fucking hypocrite liberal fuck. he is profiting from it, no doubt.
in a roundabout way.
yeah, she may as well be in the shitter talking to herself.
oh wait, perhaps she was ...
those peopl have theirs minds paid for made up. all other arguments are just dust in the wind. .
Never believe anything with a name like 'truth Initiative' or such name.
Or anything with attorney and truth in the same sentence...
Or, unfortunately, anything with the word "mothers" in the title.
Ohh I don't know...
The Mothers of Invention?
I am the slime oozing out from your wi fi net.
But that’s Frank Zappa!
Amazing just change "TV Set" in Zappa's slime song to "WiFi Net" and it works brilliantly for today's time.
And yes this is very relevant to vaping, or the move to ban it at least.
I have to listen to him again. Thanks, Cromwell.
no offence, but, zappa
Searching for a killer: Inside the CDC’s scramble to solve a mysterious vaping disease
You are the CDC. One of the entities responsible for keeping American’s safe, and by which laws are influenced.
Yet you have “limited samples”?
AND equipment failures?
All they needed to do was blood test the kids upon entry to hospital. Then get urine, hair and lung fluid samples. Why’s it so hard for the CDC to actually do something effective in this situation?
Like Act Up used to chant “Shame, Shame” in their day, it applies here. None of us here will get sick, but THC vaping kids are suffering or dying from the CDC’s ineffectual scramble to do anything at all.
