Look what someone bought me for a present to help me quit the analogues.

It looks simple but the more I'm googling the battery. (2500mah, 40amp 18650) the more I feel I'm walking around with a stick of dynamite. Until I know what I'm doing is it OK to put in a lower battery? (not sure of correct terminology, but learning fast).

Any advice appreciated.

There is no such thing as a continuous discharge 40 amp 18650. Many batteries are rewraps with inflated amp limits. As far as your question the easy answer is no if you mean a lower amp battery by lower battery. The amp limit is just that, a limit, so it is actually safer to have a higher amp battery. Please keep with it and continue learning especially about battery safety.
