Whats ur opinion on the new Vopoo mod? Says it has a quick firing chip. Any opinions?
The Gene chips do fire fast. Not that good in TC mode compared to YIHI or DNA. It has autoset feature for the wattage when you change the atty that is pretty accurate
I also am curious about the VooPoo . Thinking about getting a Drag in the next few weeks. Bought a Wismec Gen 3 about a year ago for TC and with Arctic Fox firmware or the native Wismec, didnt work well. Finally the battery door latch wore out (pretty shoddily made it seemed). Have a Woody Vapes X200 for TC on simple stainless builds and thinking the Drag will be the next mod. Any comments on the Drag build quality would be appreciated.
The Drag is a very solid well built (popular) mod. Vaping on one right now with some delicious (Dew it) juice loaded in a freemax mesh pro.
Thanks very much for the information. Curious are you able to fire the mesh in TC mode or only in power mode? After reading your reply I looked at the Freemax site. Interesting tank.
I don't use TC but the mesh pro coils are known for how well they work in TC mode.
I've had a Drag for the past year. I use it every evening for dripping. If I were to polish it up a bit you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and a new one.
If you're thinking about getting a Voopoo Drag, Heaven Gifts is going to have it on their Anniversary Flash sale in a couple days for $29 pretty good deal for a great mod.
You won’t be sorry with the performance on any voodoo product.
I’ve been a hardcore fan since they came out years back. The wife lady just got a voopoo too and I love the thing. I steal it from her when she’s not looking. lol
Built well, the board performs great, and fires ultra quick.
Thanks for all of the great information! Looks like this will be the next mod.
Most of the newer mods fire super fast.. But the Voopoo Drag is the first mod that has a nichrome temp control that actually WORKS, for the most part. If you keep firing with a bone-dry wick, it seems to burn - but it sure regulates the nichrome at reasonable accuracy before that point.. And who keeps pressing the firing button when their wick is found to be bone-dry, anyways?
In contrast, both of my died-early Kangertech mods had nichrome settings that I could just not get to work at all.
The drag works well enough, that I think I'm reserving it as my nichrome temp control mod.
Thanks for the info good to know. My Drag is supposed to be here tomorrow. I do have a little bit different version of the Drag, the Woody vapes X200 and temp control works better on it than on any other mod I have owned. I so far mostly use stainless non-complex coils. Thanks for the info.
That's how I use my Drag too.
I rarely use mine that much anymore except to test ohms. I got a 21700 mech and a 21700 pwm mod that I mainly use.
Haven't read any complaints regarding their products on this forum, unless I missed something.
Cool! I finally hear of someone else using it successfully with nichrome TC. I was wondering if maybe it was just a fluke or something, that I got one that works with it - but I guess not.
Have you done any tests between something like N-60 and n-80? I've only done these two coil types (twisteds) so far with the drag, but I think the n-80 works a bit better, unless it was just my imagination. It might have something to do with the nickel content, perhaps. I'm wondering if anybody else notices similar.
Ni200 is for TC and Ni80 is for power mode
I think we're talking about different things... At least what I'm referring to, is actually using Ni60/Ni80 FOR temp control on the drag (you can enable it in the software). Yes.. It works [here] in TC.
If you listen to a video about the new DNA Replay feature, Brandon talks about it needing a TC type of wire - and that that includes nichrome. He said the only material Replay wouldn't work with is kanthal. So apparently TC is possible with nichrome, with a chip sensitive enough to detect it. Which seems to include the DNA 75C, and apparently the Gene chip(set) that's in the Drag.
Mine just says Ni, Ti, or SS but I can't use the software because they lack support for my operating systems. Its bullshit but DNA stuff is the same way
Just received mine. Beautiful well made mod. Havent hooked it to the computer or used anything in the advanced menu settings yet but so far so good. Temp control seems a little bit better than the Woody Vapes X200 but they are close.
Ralph K understand the frustration with the OS problem. I am running OSX, Manjaro linux and Windoze on 3 different machines. Havent gone over to Windoze to install the software yet. I try to avoid Windoze whenever possible.
Regards & thanks to everyone here for the opinions and knowledge.
Update. Went across to Windoze, installed the Voopoo software. Fairly nice interface for customizing, install was straightforward as was (on this machine) the machine and the program recognizing the connected Drag. What I hoped for was the same feature as on the Arctic Fox program where you can monitor the various parameters on the mod- current, voltage, coil resistance change with temperature, puff length and battery voltage real time-- while hitting the mod with it connected to the computer. Still the VooPoo software isnt bad-
