Read this on Vapor Chef's FB. Not sure how true it is but probably worth noting.

"Only The FDA Comment Process Works – Free-To-Vape Petition Will Not Help With FDA.
Despite rumors that signing the FreetoVape.com petition is the same as sending in a comment to the FDA it is NOT!!!!! The FDA Comment Process is part of the formal rule making process that Federal agencies are required to go through. The petition does not meet the requisite standards and has no legal or legislative impact. In other words, signing it has absolutely no effect on the FDA or the politicians. As of right now, early estimates are that there are only between 4,000 and 8,000 actual vaper and vapor industry comments on Ecigs. The rest of the comments deal with cigars and pipes and will have no positive impact on the Vapor Industry.
The current number of comments on Vaping is far too low for any significant change on the Proposed Deeming Regulations. Get your comments in now, it only takes a little while.

Oh geez, this was supposed to have been stopped already. Seems not.

There is no FreetoVape petition, is a comment to the FDA. Its not a petition, period.

CASAA decided intentionally to wait for the very last 2 weeks before telling people to make comments. CASAA was warned repeatedly that the summer vacations would be a problem, and waiting until the last 2 weeks was a gamble. CASAA said they wanted to make sure ANTZ would not take advantage of the uber special comments suggestions. In the end, CASAA just said tell them your story and comment. Nothing talking to the 99 questions, they were tracking by the FDA.

If you search the FDA website, you will see that CASAA shows up in about 250 comments, verse 50,000 that contain the word CIGAR. CASAA never tested their get out the vote capabilities, and gambled they could do it at the very end. Over a month ago, I asked Julie to kick the machinary on, she and others thought it was all fine. "we disagree"

CASAA did not support the www.freetovape.org effort, told FTV to not do anything, that CASAA could handle it. FTV went forward

FTV has nearly 40,000 comments they will be making for Vapers, actually 40,000 vapers have made comments that that FTV will carry to the FDA.

But the good news is while the Alarm is a paniced CYA, it won't do any harm.

You can comment as many times as you want, so if people see this and comment, or comment again. No problem. If people see that post, and comment, no problem, if people double the comment, its still OK. You can not harm the system by commenting. PERIOD.

CASAA has got over $200,000 from Vapers, would have been nice if they would have used some of the Cash for making this going along professionally.

This is not simple, and the simpler version is not easier http://blog.casaa.org/2014/07/fourth-call-to-to-action-for-fda.html

ECF was telling everyone to not Comment, along with CASAA. Thanks ECF, way to stall an airplane.
Here back in June 2, I tried to get them started with comments. Told them 2 months ago, multiple comments were fine.

At this point its a mistake to not comment. Some people are waiting until the very last moment of the current period to comment, before they even give a view on what should be specifically said. Sure comment again when various entities put out suggestions. But more is better on comments, because the FDA is looking for UNIQUE comments, they are not doing a count. Congressmen will do a count, elected officials, but the FDA is looking at only specific issues. Unique issues.

If the extension is granted, sure that give more time, but US Senators are already pressuring the FDA to not grant an extension, and they are under no obligation (or risk really) if they do not.

Its going to be the end of the Summer when lots of people are on vacations, when the current comment period expires, two weeks before the deadline has more people gone. So its a real question if delayed comments result in no comment from a person on vacation.

The most important thing is you can comment as often as you want. Daily if you want. It not use it like a single vote. So if someone has a comment that nobody else has thought of, its a risk that they will wait, and it won't be reflected.

Comment, and comment often. And it goes without saying to comment in a well mannered and thoughtful way, there are a horde of interns sorting them out.
