I am seriously hooked on Game Of Thrones. I am reading George R. R. Martin's 5 book boxed set of The Game Of Thrones.

Excellent read.

I'm currently reading.

First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie.
Dreden Files: Skin Game by Jim Butcher
A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn

Does listening to an audio book count?

I would say so. I consumed about 30-50 hrs of audio books a week for years. I kind of miss that about my old occupation. You're still consuming literature and using your imagination, and it has book in it's name...lol.

I'm about to dip into the new Daniel Suarez novel. Just finished my first Warcraft novel, War Crimes. I think I might check up on some of their back catalog. Before that I did the 4th and 5th book in the Thrawn series from Star Wars. #ImANerd.

In that case, I've covered about 250 books in the last couple years. I just finished The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher and moved back to a previous series called The Sisterhood Series by Fern Michaels. The current book is Vanishing Act.

Nice. Did you listen to Skin game? Check out The first law trilogy, you won't be disappointed. It's gritty fantasy.

Yes, I actually only finished it last week I think. I haven't listened to Side Jobs though, its on the list. I will have to add that trilogy to my ever growing list of books to listen too but it will be a while. Turned out I was 14 books behind on my sisterhood series lol We bought them at Christmas and I'm just now getting around to listening to them. So that will keep me busy for about a month, give or take.

I'm rereading The Street Lawyer by John Grisham for the 12th time. I'm a huge Grisham fan when he stays within his genre.

Skin Game by Butcher is on my to-read list but I'm trying to finish out 4 other working series first, I doubt I'll be that good.

Kuntry you'd probably really like the Charmfall series & Chicagoland vampires series by Chloe Neill. The first one - Charmfall is a young adult series, the 2nd one is more of an adult urban fantasy series (more sex, violence & language).

Re reading (for the third or 4th time) the entire Women of the Otherworld series, freaking love it ;)

Also check out the Elemental Assassin Series by Jennifer Estep, and The Darkest Powers series and Women of the Otherworld series both by Kelley Armstrong. If you like, what I call VampPorn, the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton is really good (at least most of them).

I've started the first series by him, I think its the second you mentioned...the one with the cloaked figure on the cover (apologies for non-coherent thought). I just couldn't get into it...but I need to try again.

Yea the Lightbringer Series has the rear view of the cloaked figures, Absolutely loved reading these books, all 3 times that I have read them. The Night Angel Series (his first series) I have read at least 5 times. Awesome stories, awesome author. Book has to grab me within the first chapter, and he does it everytime.

Anyone else deep into a good book?

My current read is: Shield & Crocus written by a friend, Michael R Underwood.
Though I have 3 other books I've started as well:
Charmfall by Chloe Neill
Break of Dawn by Chris Marie Green
Undead to the World by DD Barant

What are you reading?
Since the 1st I've finished Shield & Crocus, Charmfall, and Break of Dawn and have started in on several other new ones:
A Shiver of Light by Laurell K Hamilton
Skin Game by Jim Butcher
Ghosts by Gaslight - a collection of steampunk/victorian short stories
The Serpent of Venice - Christopher Moore
The Underground Girls of Kabul - Jenny Nordberg
Rosemary & Rue - Seanan McGuire

We'll see how many I can finish the rest of the month.

Definitely read the Chicagoland Vampires if you like Chloe Neill. I like anything by Kelly Armstrong. Omens was so good. I have read and reread Women of the Otherworld. Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin and also Mythos Academy. Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson books are another favourite. And I grabbed a copy of the last Dresden Files novel the day it came out. I am definitely going to check out some of the titles you all have mentioned. I am an avid reader.

JET by Russell Blake. This book, full of Mossad and CIA assassination squads, is not my usual type of read but I was drawn to the thought of a female protagonist who kicks ass. I'm about halfway done and I must say its a really good action thriller. Will definitely read the whole series.

Yeah I'm waiting impatiently for the next in the Chicagoland Vampires series.

For those looking for a kick ass strong female lead:
Devon Monk's Allie Beckstrom series and the new Prospero Series both have awesome leading ladies
Geekomancy by Michael R Underwood (and Celebromancy) though I liked the former better than the latter.
Vampire Babylon by Chris Marie Green is an older (early-mid 2000s) series of 6.2 books

Half way through Imperial Palace by Arnold Bennet. There's so many characters you have to keep reading else you have to keep going back. I downloaded it to read on my kindle but I searched and bought the original hardback as it's very old and his books mean a lot to me

Not sure how many readers here are on goodreads.com - I'm on there: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/9843461-carrie-foster Granted I use the site a bit differently than most. I use my 'currently reading list' as a list of things I want to read sooner than the rest of my want to read list. And then I update with the current book(s) based on read progress. And usually have 8-10 books going at once, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Currently reading the October Daye series by Seanan McGquire almost done with book 2.

For those that don't know Seanan McGuire = Mira Grant - same author, different types of books.

I made a rule to myself that I would only read one book at a time to ensure I'd finish it and not have lots of unfinished books... but I let that slip after a year. Now I have maybe five books I'm reading but mainly just two

Have you used fictfact.com? I use it to find out what is being released at any given time. I often have about 5 books on the go and find myself frequently asking the question "What shall I read next?" Fictfact.com has become my go to resource.

Was looking at my book shelf today, pulled The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger, here we go again.
Totally. That's the difference between a good film and a good book. You can read a good book over and over. It's like a 'find' for life

I reread the Lord of the rings about every 2 years. The gunslinger every 3. Wizards first rule. All things clancy, griffin, and asprin. Etc etc. It's a wonder I ever get to anything new.

I know what you mean. You can rely on a book that you know to meet that inner need. When I go to a bookshop I spend ages going through the books reading parts hoping it'll hit the spot. It seldom does. My friend on the other hand will go in, go to her fav section and she already knows by the type of book whether it's gonna work for her. She'll always find something.

Empress by Karen Miller. Finished it a month ago. Only ever met one person who's read it. Powerful book about a young girl, Hekat (Hell Cat), who becomes a mighty warrior and rules supreme over the whole known world
