    Hello!

A lot of vapers who I know, think that notebook-like or powerbank battery is very bad for vaping. They say that it can explode, wery weak, etc.

Those battery has about 5 amperes discharge, so, one battery can gives about 15w when voltage is 3.
Do I have abything wrong if I use it in parallel-battery mod (istick 100w TC) if my maximum wattage is about 25?

I would not use that battery in anything over a 15 watt maximum device.
Say a Zmax or the like.
The batteries are also usually li cobalt chemistry which gets more violent in runaway situations.

So no just no. You can get Lg hg2 batteries for $6 or less each.

Batteries are just about the first thing you don't want to skimp on!

Heck, you can get some very good batteries for less than $9 each that will last you at least 500 charges.

Don't screw with questionable batteries that can end up hurting your or burning your house down

You seem to know enough about electricity that you can compute the watts needed, current drain, etc. Now I have to ask, why do you wish to take the risk? Will something happen? Probably not. Can something happen? Most certainly.

What will you do when you screw a shorted atty down on the battery? What happens when a battery wrapper gets torn and shorts?

Do yourself and those who love you a huge favor. Do what you KNOW is right and don't take the chance.

In addition, those batteries had their share of cycles.
In other words, don't be a cheap bastard and get proper batteries.

You seem to know it's wrong, yet you ask anyway. The people you know, tell you it's wrong. Everyone here is telling you it's wrong. You knew it was wrong BEFORE you even asked.

Go ahead and do it anyway. That way when you blow your fucking face off, and lose half your hand too, I've got something to laugh at. If you are really that dumb, maybe you deserve to get hurt...... You certainly refuse to heed common sense and common opinions.

I have about LG HE4 in different mod. If I want to use Pico, of course, 5A batteries are too small. But in parralel with 2 batteries we have 10A for technical guarantee, why not)?

Hmm. It's not a good idea to use 5A battery as 20A battery, esprecially in mechmod.

I don't want to set up more than 30 watts, also, box mod has protection. If I will try to do it, it writes «weak battery».
So... If you want to use battery as it specification says, if box mod has quite good protection, is it not hysteria «oh my Glob, it's notebook battery»..? I don't see anything wrong if use batteries in these limits, but may be you know better.

    >What happens when a battery wrapper gets torn and shorts?
Under wrapper there is minus contact. In box mod , as i know, only pin have «+», it just can not short.

All mods above 80 eatts use batteries in series. Not in parallel.

And the protections in mods do not protect against all forms of improper use.

    Sheesh I am done here.

2 5A batteries in a regulated device either in parallel or serial should be fine up to 30W, but I do not condone it for several reasons:
Low rating batteries should not be used for vaping.
Recycled/refurbished/old batteries should not be used for vaping.
Good, new and suitable batteries are cheap.
Don't want new users you learn bad habits from reading this, so prefer people don't use them even if it's possible.

It's not only about money, about capacity too. As you know, bigger Amp usually means less capacity.
    I have dual 18650b with 3400 mAh.
In single battery mod it gives me "weak battery" on about 50 percent.
On 2 battery I have big capacity mod and charge it 1 of 3 days.

    I won't use 5A 3400mAh ICRs for anything other then a flashlight.
I will most certainly not use old salvaged ones.
If you want to keep using them anyway, against all recommendations then go ahead.

    OK.
Let's guess, 5a battery is dangerous, even use it with protected box mod.
As for me, mech is much more dangerous and obviously they are less stable. If your battery specification is 20A, with 3 volt battery and 0.15 ohm you get 20a and 60 watt , with 4.2 volt it gives you 28a and 118 watt.
Most mech mod users who I know even can not calculate wattage, they does not know Ohm law and basically things.
Boxmoder with 5A battery is crazy guy, mechmoder who does not know basically things is respected and normal guy.It is strange for me.

You run those near capacity and you will get less than 1/2 of the listed MAH.
    Same with any li battery.
And yes ANY mod over 80 watts will have batteries in series.

    Unwatching thread this time...

I don't worry about power more than 40w, anyway)
Although I can't get you about 80w limit. My iStick 100w TC at least shows me 120w / 6.29v/0.33 Ohm

You keep saying this, despite being corrected, please stop.
Hell, just this week we've had this topic in another thread. I like to use the i100 & i100TC (120 w and up to 10v) as an example because I own a few but some ThinkVapes (over 75w?) and possibly a Boxer or two (~133w ?) are others.
It's rare as hell, but they do exist.

I'm not going to get involved in a debate on using old laptop batts though.
Besides being a tremendous risk (accidents happen and reg mods can glitch and set the power where they want, hell... JTechs max the watts after every firmware update)... it's just plain unnecessary.

Put 'em in a flashlight and be done.

And I'm not even going to touch the idea that one cannot short out a battery in a regulated sled.
That sounds like another "trust the hardware" idea with my face at risk.

Show me an over 80W single or parallel 18650 regulated mod that that will actually put out the wattage it claims?
for over a few minutes at least.

A single 26650 might with that one good 26650 battery in it.

I look forward to being corrected.
Mods are just like batteries they do not care what you print on them.

Hell, I keep hoping others will find some. As you say... just curious.
When I said "rare as hell", I wasn't kidding. :)

Not owning either, I just checked on both the YiHi chipped Boxer 150 and the ThinkVape 133... nope on both.
I had accepted the 133/167 ThinkVapes as a tentative possibles due to their dual parallel 75 watter... they're weird. :D

eta: Just checked the TV Finder 167... also a series sled.

All the 133 are DNA200 so serial.
And DNA75 are either single or parallel (like the Therion 75).

Dreamject you are amazing.20 people have said "do not do it"combined 50+ years of vaping experience and your going to keep pushing the point till you find another dumb ass to agree with you and vent a few battery's and blame it on the other dumb ass. If you want to kill your self go back to smoking at least we (vapors) will not be blamed for stupidly. one more time.Use good quality recommended battery's.If not sure look up Mooch on Reddit vaping DIY he is the battery expert of all the forums and argue with him..Dumb ass keep a phone handy with 911 set up on a 1 button shortcut.
