I am late starting my yearly rant.............................

About the Second Week of September, the Mrs. and I went shopping at Sam's Club and they already had their Christmas stuff or as I call it "Santa Crap" on display.

The retailers have just about managed to remove 99.9% of my Christmas Spirit and I am sick to death of all of them.

Went into Petsmart last week to get cat-food and they had all the Santa Crap out for our furry friends.

Back in the day, I really enjoyed the season when it started on or about December First and lasted until New Years day.

Now it starts in Freaking September and last through Effing March!

Your thoughts?

Black friday brawls were always awesome.
One of the worst... in the middle of a busy mall and near the kidlet snot nose area... this mother placed her autistic daughter at the end of our kiosk.. no problem.
Problem was the kid had on tap shoes..TAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAP... like a rabid chipmunk on **** with a crack chaser main line pushing 100% Colombian light roast..
Went near her to ask where her mommy was since the ***** squirrel was going non stop for a good 15 minutes... She let out the most soul searing brain splitting screech... Like one of this annoying rape alarms but from a 6 year old throat.
Mom came running out of a store 4 doors down screaming at US for talking to her daughter..

I wanted to force feed a few cellphone down that mother's gullet but security got involved and removed them the mall into the arms of the local law enforcement and child protective services. For her leaving her special needs daughter unattended.

Since there is a war on religion in general in this country..

FUCK CHRISTMAS music... I worked in an adult store one xmas... the repeating of the changer was dire... same songs over and over in different languages, silent night in 8 languages for an hour we were ready to fucking kill.
We did a music mutiny and put in what we listen too. The customers actually thanked us and we had a huge spike in sales.

Every year it starts earlier and earlier. I saw stores putting out Christmas stuff before school started. Definitely a WTF moment!

I always thought after Thanksgiving to start buying decorations and such, so the house is decorated through the whole month of December and ending after New Year's. Like it used to be when I was a kid.

And it bugs me as well that the Christmas decorations are right next to the Halloween ones, but our argument is invalid because capitalism. :)

I usually don't pay attention to the X-mas theme. However, the damm x-mas music is annoying. My xmas usually consists of donating items to no kill shelters. Other than that I'm not interested and ignore the sensationalism of the holiday.

I "voted" November, but just because I think it should start AFTER Thanksgiving. All while I was growing up, Christmas "season" didn't start until around the first of December. I didn't care about that though, because my birthday was on the 5th. ;) But AFTER my birthday, then, yeah, it could be Christmas season. LOL! I hate how early it starts now. I started seeing random Christmas movies this year in JULY. By the time Thanksgiving comes around, I will be sick to death of Christmas. And we don't even celebrate it, but we have to put up with it anyway. It's crazy.

When I was a kid, the Christmas stuff and store decorations started on Saint Nicholas Day during the first week of December. Retailers have pushed the envelope to before Thanksgiving now. It's commercialism at it's worst. It's not about the holiday season, it's about sales. I refuse to patronize stores that put their Christmas crap out a month before Thanksgiving.

I always felt sorry for kids that had birthdays close to Christmas. My niece's bday is the 20th. At her bday parties almost every gift she ever got was wrapped in Christmas paper. Not even my kid, and it made me mad.

I dislike christmas. I'd like it fine without the fucking presents. Presents for kids is cool, they get so excited, but adults,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,no. I hate getting them and I hate giving them. How the fuck am I supposed to know what you want or like? And I have a houseful of shit I'll never use.

Fuck it. This year I'm getting everyone a giant toothbrush for their assholes. Everybody has an asshole.

The gifts I like are power tools, gift cards for either beer or coffee, and a subscription to Scientific American.

I got my oldest son an "Around the World in 80 Beers" card since he lives in Oregon now. I got a biscuit Joiner from him last year.

Gifts that matter are great. I don't need another fucking holiday sweater, or a Tie (don't wear them any more). Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ and doing good deeds for others, not how much shit you can accumulate.

Hey, at least she got birthday presents. I didn't, because it was too hard on mom and dad to get Christmas presents for all of us kids, but they did always try to get me something extra nice. As an adult, I could care less about Christmas. It was nothing more than a guilt trip for me. I enjoyed getting together with family (until the inevitable bickering started), but my family is always competing with each other, and who got whom the best gift. I hated that, so I quit going, and that was it for Christmas as far as I was concerned. Too much gimme-gimme and not enough love and family-ness.

Walked into Lowes today, passed the pumpkins and haystacks by the door and straight into "Joy to the World".... Merry Hallowthanksmas..... :gaah:
In Gatlinburg, they pipe Christmas music out on the streets with a speaker on every utility pole. Starts mid-November and goes through March. By the first of December you're ready to load a shotgun and start blowing them off the poles....

I voted for December. As many of you know, I work for the worst of the worst when it comes to pushing the holiday envelope. We had Christmas stuff coming in and going out in September, and the Christmas music will start at 12:01 AM November the first and will probably continue through the first week of January ( only about 25 songs repeated over and over sung mostly by dead people). BTW, I'm sure once again I'll have to give up my Thanksgiving day so a bunch of losers can fight over a bunch of junk they don't really need. And everyone wonders why I hate Christmas (actually all holidays) so much! :cuss2::cuss2::headbang:

I will be the other guy stuck standing in line to keep the masses at bay. so I tend to stay home and shop online most days I can. since black Friday is nothing more then a market commercial holiday unless I need something or can get something the next day cheaper I don't bother.

that how I ended up with most of my tv series. got the dirt cheap this year is gonna I wont be doing it since the funds went into vaping.

Great thread.
Christmas has become more commercialized each passing year and decorations, sales
at stores going up earlier for too long, ironically even though now-a-days it's a Season celebration
and the word Christmas is verbotten.

We walked into a store last night and for a second I was confused, I even asked my old lady,
"Did I miss Halloween?" There was "Santa Crap" all over but not one single monster or ghost.

In my house we do the Christmas Holiday, I put my tree, lights, nativity scene
and all the "Santa Crap" up 12 days before Christmas and celebrate until Epiphany
(Christian festival held on January 6 in honor of the coming of the three kings to the infant Jesus Christ)

We have Christmas Eve Dinner, exchange presents on Christmas Day
and again on Epiphany.

Merry Christmas!

I absolutely loath and hate Christmas. People become so materialistic and stressed out about how much shit to buy. Retailers pushed it even before Halloween.

I don't buy gifts for the Christmas, I give gifts when I see something someone I know would like I get it for them then.

Also makes me puke when I hear about the so called war on Christmas.

Christmas isn't what it's supposed to be anymore. Can't even say Merry Christmas. "Happy Holidays" since you might offend someone. Drunk uncle rant over.

The ones that I see getting their panties in a bunch are the ones that make a big deal out of saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. I don't see what the big deal is other than those who take issue are just being attention whores.

I have never actually witnessed this supposed "War on Christmas," only the people complaining about the WoC. Therefore, I don't give a damn.

That said, I despise setting Christmas decorations in stores in AUGUST this year. I don't like to see them until after Thanksgiving. The *only* exception for me is lights. I love the huge, massive displays people like to put up, and as a result they can sell out of the good lights at all the major retailers rather quickly. I like having more time to peruse, plan, and hunt for lights, especially since they don't *have* to be specifically for Christmas. Everything else is just gratuitous and disgusting to me, commercialization of a holiday that's supposed to be elegant and spiritual, a time of love and peace and family.

Happy freaking Halloween y'all. ;)
