Which Nichrome Wire Should I Get?

Been learning how to build coils with kanthal, and now I wanna try some nichrome builds. So, which gauges should I get to start out with? I plan on getting 4 spools, so that should be enough to start with.

Also, what is/are the difference(s) between Ni60 and Ni80?

Thanks!

The nichrome wire is a percentage mix of nickel and chromium. 80 is a better mix with better taste. Better heat efficiency. 60 has more metallic taste.

Thank you. :)

Any suggestion on which gauges I should start off with? I'll get more eventually, but really just want to experiment with it for a bit at first.

I usually encourage folks to start with 28. I have every gauge from 22 to 40. Prob go through 36-40 quickest as I use it for Clapton type wraps.
Lightning vapes always has a good price and quick

Ni200 is nickel for temp control only (not wattage mode).

Temco has best prices on any wire, including nichrome80.

Yeah, I got what I could from Temco, but they're out of a lot of Ni80 so I had to get some lighting vapes for the rest. Ended up with 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 36. Couldn't get 20 or 34. I guess I could look around, but I'll wait and play around with what I have coming in before I get any more. Then I wanna try some 40-50 gauges once I get a little more comfortable doing this.

I've been wondering about this, does it make a difference on the Clapton's? I'm using 28g kanthal Clapton'd with 28g 201 and I love it but if greater is to be had with smaller outer wire I'm gonna need thatuploadfromtaptalk1443598432295.jpg
