Why temp control for RTA's and sub-ohm tanks?

I can totally understand the need in a dripper as the wick needs to be moistened every 5 hits or so.

But if a tank wicks properly, what's the point? Is it simply to customize the temp of the vape? I guess that makes sense, but I've never felt like I couldn't regulate it just with wattage and voltage adjustment.

I notice I get a better vape with nickel. Like I get the maximum vapor with no burnt taste. Its like night and day once you try a properly built ni200 tank. My Zephyrus didn't come alive till I used nickel instead of nichrome or kanthal
