Hello everyone at VU I am new here. I am also new to vaping (as far as RDAs). I am looking to spend about $100 for a Mechanical Mod and an RDA. I am a cloud chaser so anything that will produce huge dense clouds. I would also want something that would be easi(er) to build. Also which website is the best budget friendly website, I prefer Amazon but are there better site out there? What is the best gauge wire for beginners? Thank you any advice is appreciated.

Welcome to VU Hempicus.
Not easy questions to answer, but I'll do my best. I've been vaping nothing but mechanicals and rda's
for the last year fwiw.

100 dollar budget will have you starting with clones and not a bad idea for starting with anyway.
You are going to have a lot of suggestions because there are so many choices now with both
mech's and rda's. There are lots of good ones and everyone has their preferences. Copper mech's
are where you'll end up, so you may as well start with one. Hybrid 510 style connectors are where
you'll likely also end up so a mod that comes with both traditional 510 and hybrid connectors is a good
choice. In my opinion the tobh tobeco clone for 9.99 at 101vape is a bargain and a great entry into rda's.
All of the stores listed below I shop at and recommend.

Although I inserted a link for 26g a1 kanthal, it isn't a bad Idea to get a roll of 28, 26 and 24 guage wires.
Make sure you get an ohm meter if you don't have one yet, and learn about batteries. Stay safe.

You could buy everything Slicknic listed, add an xtar (1st choice) or nitecore (2nd choice) battery charger and you'd have a solid setup. That's a good list.

This is the best starting mechanical deal I've seen.

The Beacon is authentic, has very positive reviews, great for a beginner. Plus you get your authentic RDA, a battery charger, and a battery. You really can't go wrong with this deal.

I would stick with 28 gauge wire and build a single coil for now. Later, down the road move to 26 or 24 if you would like to get into dual coil builds.

Also like Slicknic said, get an Ohm reader. Learn about what you're doing and using and stay safe! Have fun buddy.

Hey there Hempicus!

As far as mech mods go. Start with clones (as already stated) Out of experience Hcigar's clone of the Stingray was an awesome purchase as my first mech mod. It holds a 18650 battery. I am still in awe of the performance from it. As for the RDA, the amount of air holes plays a big part (more air bigger vape).

Check out http://viral-vapor.com/ as they are closing down and everything is marked down. I went "window shopping" on what I wanted (look wise) then I did a review search on google of the mod\rda and youtube. To get some feed back. With clones be careful. Not every clone of the stingray x is a good clone just like every other mod out there. That's the tricky part of buying a clone make sure it was cloned correctly.

Happy vaping.! I hope this helps a little bit!

Everything listed here is pretty much gold. Tobhs are great atty's to start with. They work very well, their construction is very solid, and they have a very basic design that is great for new rebuilder's to start on. Tobeco's clones of the Tobh are very good. I personally have an Infinite clone of the Tobh V2 that is also very good, though I've heard Infinite is slipping in quality lately so tread carefully with them.

All I have to add is that personally have had a very good experience with my Americlone FUhattan mod. It's not a hybrid topcap so you'll have a bit more volt drop than you would with a hybrid, but it's contact is very solid and the switch is a thing of beauty.

I've been using a n eGo, and I purchased it from a local shop but they don't have much of a selection when it comes to mods.

Now an ohm meter is needed for building and most importantly safety, but that will hit your budget around $15. Two high discharge batteries will hit you up at about $18. And a good charger like the nitecore i2 will hit you at 22 bucks It charges and conditions many different types of batteries. Now these will be needed with what ever you decide to go with and these can be used on many devices so i look at it as start up cost of $55.

You can get a good mech clone for about 40 to 45 bucks. IMHO best bang for your cash would be the infinite cartel limited edition ($50-60); built like a tank and can take a tumble or two. it will allow you to work with 3 different size batteries and play around with different size mech styles as other will also.

In terms of rda for 22 bucks or so u get a good clone. I will say i love how the litte boy puts out vape, i even like it better than my doge.

The key here is do research on ohms law and building coils. be safe

I prefer to buy from vape sites or b&m over ebay or amazon. It feels as they support the vape culture more as the other 2 couldn't give a poo whether it stays legal or not.
