The max charging current of XTAR MC1 Plus is 1A current. To fully charge a VTC5 just takes 3 hours. It can also automatically choose the most suitable charging current (0.5A, 1.0A) for your batteries to ensure the longest lifespan for your batteries. I'm in the same boat! I've recommended them several times because it's what I wish I had gone with instead of the Trustfire charger I bought before I knew better!

I can say I have a good friend who swears by his Xtar charger, he's got an SMY 180 box so he's always got at least 3 batteries charging on there and it works great!

I just bought a VP2 a few weeks ago. I like getting a reading on every battery I charge and having a selection of charging rates.

Bought one for my father too. He's also an otr trucker.

At home, the xtar vp4 is my go to charger.
