You Must Wait?

I dunno if this is a bug or not, but several times I've tried to post on a couple threads and get a popup telling me "An error occurred: You must wait xx seconds before performing that action."
Very frustrating....

Its probably something in place to keep from spamming or some such thing

It's intent is to help prevent forum flooding, a form of spam.

Yeah, I hear ya, but you'd really be mad if all the forum areas were flooded with the same "message/ad" over and over. Makes a Mod/Admin's day very bad.

Yeah, kinda like all the porn spam I get repeatedly in my email. No matter what I do, it never stops, and it makes me angry....

I hear ya! You have a whole new outlook on the workings of a forum after you Moderate/Admin a few. Been there, done it, and it can be a thankless job.

I couldn't do it, not without blowing up, anyway....lol! Our mods here have my eternal respect, seems no matter what kinda a-holes get on here, they always handle it with class, very professional. Now that doesn't mean they don't sound like me sitting there in their chairs, but their presentation is top notch. I'd likely be the first moderator banned for reaming someone's ass in true sailor fashion....lol!

Yes, you have to have a certain amount of tact, and patience to deal with folks at times. Most Mods really hate to have to ban a member. We tried to avoid it if at all possible.

Never enjoyed doing it, but did enjoy the relative peace and tranquility of the board after ridding it of a few real troublemakers. If it gets to a point where other members don't feel comfortable or welcome because of it, you have to act.
