Liz and I just returned from dinner. We decided at the last minute to change our eating venue.
"Why?" you may ask. "Prime Rib on Easter Sunday at an excellent restaurant sounds like SUPER YUM."
Well, in the interest of being frugal after all of the car repairs - we got a little surprise in the mail Friday, from a hamburger/hot dog joint called "Cook Out." We'd told them about a Cook Out nearest to where we live that did such an excellent job with their food.
Okay, I confess. I called their corporate offices, and told them that they needed to open some "Cook Outs" in Colorado, since we're moving there very soon. I also sang praises for the "Cook Out" closest to us now on speakerphone, with Liz yelling close by, backing up my words.
On Friday, we received a plain white envelope that had an NC sender's address handwritten upon it.
Inside, were "Cook Out" cards, signed by the NC CEO's secretary. Two FREE food trays - of whatever we wanted.
We also got two cards each for free shakes!
Insulin, come hither - sliding scale, if you please?
Their burgers are the living end. Their french fries, too - and everything is so freshly cooked, it's so hot - it can BURN your mouth - since it's fresh from the grill!
The fries, too!
No shakes tonight, but we gave thanks to Our Savior for what He endured for us.
We ate like kings and queens, giving thanks for our blessings.
Buona Pasquale (Happy Easter), everyone. The roofs of our mouths feel like we ate hot pizza - but, it was so, so good.
