Hohm Wrecker Vs Hohm Wrecker G2

I wick the Crius, Griffin, Alleria, Gemini the same. You want your wick tails to completely fill the openings to the channels at the top of the deck so juice can't leak past, but short so they only peak beneath the wick ring. If your tails aren't thick enough, try larger ID coils.
Thanks for clarification - I was trying to build with my usual 3.0 mm, but kept breaking the inner rings, so I had to drop to 2.5. Also my first RTA in years, so there's a learning curve, but not nearly as much of one as I'd figured.

With that, I'm going to stop derailing the Hohm Wrecker thread and will go check out some AugVape threads for more help there...

I use 2.5 in the Alleria. Your breaking the SS wick ring?

The glass build deck surround. Mine, my spare, stole my wife's spare and after that I'd better not screw up again.

Last one, I promise...

Dang!

I bought mine from the same place Mythical did. I found the place thru the Hohm Tech page, they are one of the authorized dealers. The price was a little lower than other places. I checked the authentication code and the unit is legit. I had no problems with mine, I'm feeling bad that Mythical is not enjoying his mod, I recommended the place. I believe another member here bought G2's from there, the price was just under $100. Maybe they will chime in with their opinion, maybe Mythical got a bad unit. I actually went to buy another one but the price went up to $129.
I received my G2 from vaporworld.biz It's chucking some vapor in AUTO+ .18 ohm ss316L wrapped with 34A1K 2.5mm filling the Alleria chamber.
The mod seems fine, screen is slightly crooked, buttons are nice. Ordered red; it's a deep orange to me just like in the pictures on their site. Firmware version FSK_G2_2.4.7

Thanks bro. Appreciate it. Now I just saw their new mod the Hohm Slice coming out in May. It's a 26650 mod. I may have to wait for this one. I've been dying to get a 26650 mod.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk
Most 26650 mods, don't work as well as their 18650 counterparts.... The majority of 26650 batteries are not up to the same standards as the 18650's. I was thinking about 26650 mods as well, until I did some research....26650s mods that CLAIM 100watts, not happening, MAYBE 75watts, and even then not for long....Think of a 26650 mod the SAME as single 18650 mod, BUT with longer battery life. Translation, vaping at 50watts.....75watts MAX
Video the 36:30 mark :

36:20 mark

Listen to what he says about using 26650 device BUT he's using an 18650 battery...if you watch the video a bit, he mentions the 18650 fired at a higher wattage than the 26650.....The difference, 26650 will last longer, but also at lower wattage.

Mooch feels some of the 26650s can be run at 100W, and that exceeding their CDR is actually safer than doing so on an 18650. Myself, I tend to be cautious and use two battery mods for 100W.

I have the MNKEs he rated at 25A CDR, but won't be buying more because some were duds apparently. I just got lucky to get good ones.

@OldMadScientist, I only had a problem with the upgrade, other than that it's been great. Are you sure the Slice is cast zinc? Isn't cast zinc more brittle than aluminum alloy?

Went back to my emails to double check -- it's described as "a zinc alloy that's formed." Don't have any more detail on how it's formed. Cast zinc alloy has more impact resistance than cast aluminum alloy or even cast iron. For heft and strength, I'd prefer zinc.

I'm going to wait one more week for the Slice, then, depending on the reviews, I'll order another G2 or the Slice....unless I "win" a giveaway and get both.

Well I took the batteries out of the G2 to charge them and then popped them back in fresh and now the TC seems a little more stable and functioning. At least the "Kanthal" option in the Advanced TC menu is working. Havent tried with SS, but Hohm Tech told me their SS function is wildly unstable and they are working to get it updated and working properly.

Whatever the case, for any wire, just use the XXX TC mode and adjust the TCR curve until you get a decent vape. Its been what I was doing mostly. Using the curve value you can "TC" vape on any metal. I even tried it on the RX200 I think and was "TCing" on kanthal.

I like to refer to it as temp limiting more than anything else. I'm vaping on some ss316 duals I just wrapped and it 'appears' stable to me.

I like how it oscillates rather then full cutting the power or stepping down alot, it keeps it a nice vape right where it should be when set up correctly!

Yea thats the big plus for me for keeping/getting another G2. Every other TC mod I have cuts the power when it hits the set temp, then lets it drop a bit, then ramps up again (though it happens fairly fast, its definitey really noticeable). The G2 keeps it pretty much consistent at the temp you set, so you can take long draws without feeling that downslide/ramp back up.

You're both right. Maybe what I should have said was my other TC mods are temp limiting and the g2 is the only one that really controls it. Makes it much smoother.

The

G2 or the Original Hohm Wrecker?
I'm not sure...I got it from BPROSEK....:)

He sent me this message: It is virtually brand new, additionally I sent in to hohmtech to have the available updates done which included new algorithims and replacing the battery bridge. So it is the most up to date with everything available.

It'll be the G2, BPROSEK is my man! I cant believe he got rid of one of his though....I find that pretty crazy, I think its the only regulated mod worth owning..

Right now I'm between the g2 and another ipv5. Does anyone have both?

That Sig 213 has my attention, too.

But, you don't have the others, right?
Ive had a IPV4, not the 5 though I dont think theres much of a difference between them besides wattage...The price is decent though but has more limitations then I'd want in a regulated device, it uses a YiHi SX330-200 Chip
Specs of IPV5:
Output Power: 10W-200W
Output Joule: 10J-100J/ (120J for Titanium)
Standard Resistance: 0.15ohm-3.0ohm
Joules Mode Resistance: 0.05ohm-1.5ohm
Output Voltage: 1.0V-7.0V
Input Voltage: 6.4V-9.0V
Output Current: 1.0A-45.0A
Input Current: 1.3A-45.0A
Temp. limit Centigrade: 100°C-300°C
Temp. limit Fahrenheit: 212°F-572°F
TCR Value:0.00050-0.00700
Temp. control with Stainless Steel/ Ni200/ Ti wire

.15 lowest firing resistance is pointless in a 200w mod with a 45a output limit of you ask me...

I have 2 ipv5s. What's wrong with the resistance? I've run 0.3ohm builds at 200W.

I dont build that high normally but I do understand that others do. Thats why I said its not the mod for me but the G2 has many more features and less limitations, this is the reason I would choose one over the other myself.

I'm not nearly as impressed with the IPV5 as I'd hoped - I find it bulky, heavy, and the battery door doesn't stick on very well for me. Adjusting the settings took a little getting used to, but once I figured it out the mod performs fine, it's just the design I'm not a fan of.

G2 and "that Sig 213" are the current apples of my eye...

The IPV5 is already, what? 2 months old? 2 months old in the vaping world means outdated lol.
Just sitting on my desk right now I have a Sig 100, Mini Volt, IPV5, IPVd2, Kanger Dripbox and Kanger K120 - I have zero need for any other mods, or more power (50-60 watts is all I need). But I'm on the brink of going into hoarder mode...

Lol, on my couch and table right in front of me Ive got a Target 75, SMY 60, Minivolt, Nugget, K-Box Mini, Treebox 75, Knight clone, Nemesis clone, HoG clone, RX200, Noisy Cricket, and a Hohm Wrecker G2. The whole gambit from tiny itty bitty 40w micro mods up to the most advanced chip on the market, and I still need MORE! Got my eyes on that 160 watt Dripbox, a Disguiser, a Spartan 300, a Lucifer, a 213, and another G2 and Cricket.

You can never have too much :D

Been in hoarder mode since the FDA thing. In the last 2 weeks I have bought a Cool fire 100tc, Ipv5, Hohm Wrecker G2 and Slice, and a Vt133. Looking at the Sig 213, SX Q, and the vaporflask DNA 133 when it comes out. I've also been stockpiling coils and tanks. I'm ready for Vapocalypse. Lol

Shit me too. Im going for my favorite juices right at the moment. The Bedrock juice is on sale for like $12 right now so I got a couple of those, and I gotta get a few bottles of the Five Fold Carnival too (though I talked to the guy and he basically said fuck the FDA, hell go underground lol)

Yeah man, not that worried about juice as I believe there will be a thriving underground market for it. I also think as we get closer to the 90 days and things get more clarified the guys that are folding will be holding fire sales. Coils, mods, and tanks are what I'm concentrating on.

I just ordered H2, wondering why it's cheeper (@$73) than the H1 (@ $81)..
I always shop at ecig.com Josh is a great guy and always stands behind his product. I've told this story before. I ordered an X Cube. The bt didn't work Josh replaced it. Sent me another and that did not work. I asked if I could just exchange it for a VT200 and pay the difference. Josh said don't worry about it and gave me the VT200 for the price of an X Cube. This was when the VT had just come out so there was a big difference in price. Ecig.com made a lifetime customer out of me that day.

Kalifornia is even tighter restriction-wise than the rest of the country. I've almost got a solid enough clientele base to pull my limited ads and go strictly word-of-mouth juice wise as it is...
