This one was better than my previous one. Just one time for weekdays, then Saturday, then Sunday. My previous one I had to do all 7 days separately. Considering I'm retired, every day is the same.

Petey is a mama's boy. Oobie is the most mechanical. My dearly departed Briana was the most mechanical of them all. She would take nuts off bolts, and unscrew things and unlatch things all day. Everyday I would come home from work to find she unscrewed all quick links holding her toys from the top of her cage. Her favorite toy was an acrylic treasure chest with different shaped holes. I filled it with blocks of different shapes, and she had to figure out how to get them all out. The only time she ever cussed was one day when one of the blocks was jammed. She was shaking the treasure chest, and peering in. Finally, she said, "Goddamnit!"

I bet life is very rich with them feather babies with ya :)

Well, I *can't* use HC or XC, the tablet won't read it. There's no way to do anything to the tablet to make it do anything different. That first one is HC, I've already tried an SDHC, it won't read it. The 2nd one, 2gb, no better than what I'm finding. It's weird because the specs on the tablet say it accepts up to 64gb MicroSD... but nobody makes any microSD larger than 2GB, unless it's SDHC or SDXC. I've checked online at Microcenter, Walmart, OfficeDepot, Ebay, and Amazon... anything larger than 2GB is HC or XC.

The tablet was PIFed to me, so it's not like I'm really out anything... though I did buy a 32GB MicroSDHC, thinking it was just microSD, but it did come with an adapter, so I can either use it with the adapter in my camera, or without the adapter in my phone once the 64GB one runs out of space. Or maybe put different stuff on it. I dunno. It's just very discouraging. At least the tablet is good for reading ebooks, which is why it was PIFed to me, so for that use, it's great!

Ah well at least you've got it serving one good function, in reading ebooks. Think I would almost appreciate dedicated to for doing that. Wife says I can use her tablet here for whatever, when she goes to work. It has Android, Marshmallow I think on it. Told her I would an Ubuntu or Debian app Linux on it. But that would require rooting to actually function as I'd like. Do not want to foul her tablet for her and rip off the android.

There is pro's and cons to ebooks. You can store a shit load of books on sumptin like an Ipad or kindal. But it just doesnt have the same feel of holding a book and turning the pages. At times I read a lot, then I will go long periods without reading. So with an ebook, you never lose your page but eye strain can also be a bitch from them.
My Ipad probably has over 100 books on it and I read around %95 of them. Sadly I cant share the books with others when it is an ebook unless I let them link to my accounts and that I am not wanting to do.

Yep, can understand that. I like reading Terry Pratchett in paperback novels. I would though like an electronic copy of Back To Eden by Jethro Kloss, one that would update regularly. It was an excellent work of valued information on herbalism. No that is not drug reference, instead it's about using natural herbs such as basil, yarrow, colt's foot, black root, Jew's ear, burdock, mandrake, Castor, and so on as natural remedies for common ailments. I think it falls under homeopathy or holistic healing.

Having spent a week alone in the woods as a teen, I learned the very rudimentary basics of what to consume and not. This spurred my interest further and led me to find Back To Eden at a rummage sale, I haggled the old bird down to a dollar. She had it on sale for three. Looking back I probably ought to have give her the three. It was indeed worth it to learn about how some plants had been used from the beginnings of time in healing, and modern medicine was now struggling to keep up because of well, profit.

Used to run around with a small cadre of the rough and tumble crowd. One old fellow told another, "hell you drop that boy anywhere in any form of wild, bet you'd come back fifty years later and find him all smiling and bringing you something to eat". It was then, I realized a disconnect with a great deal of what is considered modern, contemporary. It may have been growing up and learning of work, life from what we consider the old timer, working class mules which buffered me from that disconnect. My grandfathers had taught me how to read things well and to keep perspective.

Still that disconnect exists even today. Find myself living in a few vastly differing worlds at times. It's alright though, I survive. :)

Oh yes, almost forgot my manners. Here, enjoy some of my infamous Trinity Beans. They aren't mine by recipe. I just make them up good. Anyone can make them though. :)

If you came here to vent, then vent. Nobody here minds venting.
If you came here to shit all over everyone just because they aren't ready to bend over and take it up the ass yet, then fuck you.
If you came over here to spout the same nonsense you spout over there, for example the idea that juice vendors are making millions in profits, then you are the fucktard that you just called all of us. Learn about how businesses work and concepts like cost vs price vs margin before you start spouting that kind of ludicrous BS. After seeing that post by you on ECF, it's hard to take your thoughts seriously.
Well done , well done:wave:

Good morning, folks! It's been a busy weekend thus far with family visitors here this weekend, plus trying to get my lawn mowed. Managed half of it before the rains came. Just got caught up with stuff here with parrots, a certain rodent trolling here and such, more FDA depressing crap. Anyway, today's a new day and we'll see what it brings. I did manage to get a Kanger dropbox 160 on preorder. I hope to be able to get all the stuff I am wanting from my list eventually.

Me too, Huck! I always knew they were smart, I just didn't realize how individual they were, and how much personality they have. If they could be trained to use the toilet, I'd want some! ;)

Well, not the toilet as many birds drown in them. They can be paper trained, but that's not a good idea either. They may hold it until they have the opportunity to use their poo paper, which is unhealthy. And if something happened to you, friends and family wouldn't know (or be able to handle a bird who loves you only), and then the bird could die from holding it.

Most birds won't poo on you though. They will wait, or hang their butt out over the floor and let it rip.

Dafuq?! It snowed last night. None on the ground, but there is some on my roof. Cray. So much for a Sunday ride on the scoot.

And dem southerners was makin fun I needed a new thermostat.

Anyone ever buy anything from Kanvape? They seem to have something I'm interested in, but I've never heard anything about them

Think my Lady ordered my Aero Tank from them, on one of their Ebay based sells pages. Product shipped in reasonable time, was all in good order. Later, I dropped the tank accidentally of course, Pyrex glass didn't like the concrete floor. Picked up a steel tank replacement for it from Discount Vapers. Me dropping the damn thing was no fault of Kanvape though. * chuckles * That was me having a moment of "fuck, my fingers, what do they do... oops, shit!"

When I was young, I was a wood model maker for the auto industry. Worked in a big shop awhile, and the brothers who owned it had a LOT of businesses. Their DAD ran the tool crib. He had to be 85. I said to him "Pete, why are you working? Your kids are rich. Tell them to get you a nice place in Florida." He said the same thing, all his friends who retired, soon expired. Gave him purpose. NICE old guy too, loved talking to him. SO much wisdom and experience.
That's how I feel about it: until I'm unable to get out and around, I want to be doing something to keep me occupied. Right now, I plan on umpiring as long as I'm still able to put on the gear and get on the field. And if that stops being an option, I can always become a greeter at Walmart.. "Welcome to Walmart. Now, get your shit and get out!" :giggle:

My old fart kitty girl sings to me all the time. Especially when I am trying to listen to TV or sumptin.

My cat talks to me more than she does to my husband, even though she's a real daddy's girl. My husband was grumping about it... I told him it's a "girl thang." :D But even so, her meows are more like squeaks. My little squeaker. :D Unless she sees a cat outside... then she kinda mrowwwws. :D

As geeky as I am with PCs, I really dunno shit about mobile devices; Android seems fine to me. The tablet is non-GSM, but my phone is GSM, which I have managed to learn means that the tablet can't be used as a phone under any circumstances, it's strictly wifi, but my phone could use any data provider just by changing the SIM chip. But I'm happy with MetroPCS for the phone, they have good rates on their plans, and all their plans are unlimited data -- they don't charge more if you go over the amount you pay for, it just slows down, and I really like that!

But yeah, the PIFed tablet was because of my interest in ebooks, and now that I've gotten into that, I find I REALLY like it -- my local library lets you check out amazon kindle books! And when a book is due, you don't have to do anything, it automagically falls off -- beats heck out of having to truck it to the library to avoid fines! It also means that my actual trips to the actual library, I don't have to check out enough books to break my arm -- last trip, I checked out only 5, instead of 10-12. And now that I have a mobile phone, I have my own mobile hotspot everywhere I go, so my tablet is useful everywhere I go -- another nice little perk from metroPCS!

I really hate telephones, is the main reason it's taken me this long to get a mobile phone, but these gizmos do so much more than a phone, I can forgive it for being a phone. :D

The other bad feature is that insomniacs can't use it to help them get to sleep -- I learned a long time ago that about an hour before I go to bed, get off the computer and read an actual book -- something about the light source keeps you wakeful. So that's why i do still check out actual books from the library, so I have something to read before bed, or to take to bed when I'm having a hard time falling sleep.
