Eleaf continues to lead the industry with high quality products and innovation. After much great success with the i Stick, i Just, Lemo and stylish eGo glass tanks we are now seeing the release of the i Stick Mini and at the end of this month you will have the option to choose between the newly upgraded i Stick with 30 and 50 watts loaded with an assortment of strong features. To pair the i Sticks with a new tank we look at the new MELO.

Eleaf's Description

The ELeaf MELO atomizer was designed for the new iStick 30 watts battery or any other high wattage batteries. It is constructed out of stainless steel, along with its glass tube body and glass mouthpiece. The cotton used inside is safe and certificated. The coil is sub ohm at 0.5 ohm to produce a smooth vape.

The 0.5ohm heating coil produces a huge vapor by virtue of the thickened 0.4mm diameter, which also guarantees a durable and safer output of 20-30 wattage.

The wick used inside is glass fiber cotton, known as a more environmental and healthier material.

With total six inlet holes on MELO base, the airflow is more unimpeded. One can enjoy the smooth and constant vapor by easily rotating the regulation ring.

Diameter 22.3 mm, 3.5 ml juice capacity, 510 threading, .5 ohm resistance, power 20-30 watts.

*GLASS DRIP TIP*

Personal thoughts. Looks great I have been impressed with all of their tanks, no issues with leaks, tight draws or burnt hits. Don't know how much this will cost but I'm sure it will be reasonable as all of their products have been in the past. For people who like to sub ohm and want something bigger than the Atlantis but smaller than the Subtank, this looks like a very good medium. I'm most impressed with the custmization option of the Subtank but would take this tank over the Atlantis in a heartbeat. 3.5 ml juice, cotton wicks, six hole airflow option makes this tank very impressive. Looks good on the i Stick.

Big question: Is it compatible with Atlantis coils? The Melo coils look almost identical. IMO Eleaf is setting the standard for APVs.

I doubt that they are. In my experience most companies use proprietary coils so it will only fit their tanks due to threading/design. Atlantis coils will fit only Atlantis. I'm guessing that they will be priced reasonably on par with market standard, probably $15 for 5. I know Atlantis go for about $20. Eleaf has set the standard for small portable full featured box mods at a very affordable price point. I completely agree.

That right there is what kills it for me, all my tanks use Kanger & Aspires coils, I am not interested in hunting after a 3rd type

That makes sense. I think it's a nice looking tank for what's out there in the sub ohm genre and it looks great on the i Stick. You can get the subtank and use your Kanger coils in them or use the new OCC coils. I've seen them for as low as $40 good deal:)

Or I might just get in touch with i Smoka and collaborate on designing a new "Whiskey Tank" in your favorite color that will take every coil in the land.:p

My intuition tells me that Aspire and Eleaf are going to follow in Kanger's footsteps on the Subtank. Since the Subtank is not exclusively limited to the .5 sub ohm there will likely be more resistance variation options available for the public to choose. I think that's a good idea since many people have no desire to sub ohm or don't want to be limited to just that. The MELO's 3.5 ml tank is a nice size and I'm looking forward to trying out the glass drip tip.

Not much point in getting a Melo after owning a Lemo.
I think the name similarity will confuse some, meaning they will want to get one but get the other.
I suppose they need to keep up with the competition and it does look a whole lot like one of those.

I see your point with regard to competition since the market is being flooded with new devices and steering towards sub ohm vaping, which is rather surprising to me since most people I know don't really care to sub ohm. But the MELO is a sub ohm glassomizer and the LEMO is an RTA. The MELO is for the target market that doesn't want to deal with rebuilds.

Many of these do or will have a coil head option great them 1 ohm-but the lager air openings in the coil heads will allow for better airflow control.

I have a friend who is the same way, she drops her tanks constantly. I suggested she get one with aluminum housing covering the glass. Only thing I don't like about that is that you can't clearly see your juice level unless the window pane is large enough for viewing. I haven't dropped any of my glass tanks yet...Knock on wood:)

Put a vape band on the glass, might save it from breaking.

Echo on VapeNW. They should start shipping in 2 weeks from what I just got back an hour ago. They also appear from preorder pricing to be much cheaper than the Atlantis! unfortunately unlike NW I haven't tested one out yet and can't comment on performance.

VapeNW.com has presale for $19.99. http://vapenw.com/melo-atomizer-by-eleaf
Eleaf will release on 1/22 so we will send out around 1/29
Got a sample and it Vapes like Aspire Atlantis but at lower price.
The battery you see is iStick 30W for $39.99 and it will fire on .4ohm, Melo has .5ohm coil.

Excellent price. About 1/2 of the Atlantis and right on time with the 30 and 50 watt i Stick release. More resistance options will avail soon. How long has the coil lasted thus far?

@VapeNW.com Hey have you guys got ahold of the heads yet?
Curious how impossible a rebuild would be on them.
it's a vertical coil like Atlantis, and about the same size. Not sure about rebuilding factory coil, my last factory coil rebuild was protank and my eyes and big fat fingers couldn't keep up.

At $15 for 5 heads I wouldn't even look to rebuild. If the coils last 3 weeks they pay for themselves. Though some will want that option available since the hobbyists love to tinker and experiment and it could work that way too. Both the Atlantis and Subtank coils can be rebuilt, it's been done already. I don't think the MELO will be an exception. I'll just buy them since I don't have the time or patience for rebuilding like I used to but don't want to be limited to sub ohm either. I want to see each manufacturer design the new organic cotton coils in various resistance with the flexibility to fit any of their tanks. It wouldn't be difficult for mechanical engineers to consider the schematic when designing the base and coil.

FYI

Looks like Melo and Atlantis fit together or you can exchange parts, bottom, coil, and top. (not perfect but it will work) Atlantis coil is about 1mm longer on the bottom.

Melo coil will give you dry hit after 3 to 4 good fast drags on 80vg/20pg, but I tried with Atlantis coil on Melo and it didn't have the burnt taste. I hope they fix this before release, just need bigger juice hole since there using cellucotton versus ceramic wool for Atlantis.
But it is 1/2 the price of Atlantis and I think it looks better. I guess you can use 50vg/50pg. enjoy the photo's

Melo will have 1ohm & .5ohm coil so it will not work with your iStick 20w or MVP you can use iStick 30w or any mod or box mod that will go below 1ohm.

Thank you that was helpful. I think whenever dealing with high viscosity juice it will take longer to wick and properly saturate. More airflow and larger juice holes will aid with high VG juices. Also letting your tank sit upright after refills for five minutes helps as well. You can also slow down your pulls giving the coil time to refresh and not work as hard to absorb the juice. If you're not a high VG vapor then it becomes easier, 50/50 60/40 or 70/30 PG/VG should be fine. I'm completely with you it looks much better than then Atlantis and offers so much more. I just checked a site and they will be selling the coils for $10 which is 1/2 the price of the Atlantis. The MELO for $20 is also 1/2 price of the Atlantis. Larger juice capacity and Glass Drip Tip are all pluses. The Atlantis coils can be rebuilt as well, giving people the option to use their rebuilds should they opt to do that. Tank investment and coil investment sound like a real winner here. For people who don't have the funds for the Subtank this is the next best thing for sub ohm vapors, it's smaller dimensions will also look good on mods, notably the new i Sticks. Thanks again, for the informative update.

I think $20 for the tank will be standard. Coils will range from $10-15 depending where you get them. Eleaf did it again by pricing everything competitively to make their products affordable to more vapors. When this tank comes out at the end of the month I can see people shifting to the MELO and leaving the Atlantis behind.

Seriously? That's great news

Edit: You have them (Melo) in stock so you would know. Have iStick 50W and Melo in my vapenw shopping cart. I throw in a pack of Atlantis coils and I'm set for free shipping :)

Nice when you can get it all in one package. The 30 or 50 watt i Stick will pair beautifully with the MELO. Figure $40 for the 30 watt or $50 for the 50 watt. $15 for coils and $20 for the MELO. $85 and you're almost set, just get some good juice and you'll be in Nirvana.

It needs to be noted that the Melo heads are compatible with the aspire Atlantis, AND they are organic cotton

That's good to hear. People will have the option of switching back and forth at their choosing. MELO heads are expected to be cheaper than the Atlantis, so you save a few bucks to boot. I suspect the MELO tank will be a huge star and only $20. Hello my friend, hope all is well with you:)

All the more reason to exercise self control now more than ever. Separate the needs from wants. The industry is doing a remarkable job feeding the vapor's greed for more and more gear. Few more small toys and I'm set for a while. I always pass on gear to friends and have made a New Year's resolution to contribute more to charities. Life is short we need to make it count now, no guarantee of tomorrow.

With the wild success of the Atlantis and the Sub-Tank, a lot of manufacturers are going to get on the "me too" wagon. eLeaf has made a splash with their iStick line of APV's, it's logical that they would make an atty that capitalized on the rep they've made for themselves. Before the iStick, eLeaf was the red headed stepchild of Joyetech. Now they look like they are going to clean up in the mid wattage and cheap tank market.

Ill stack my Lemo's to most of my more expensive tanks hands down.

I'll buy one of these, but I'm more excited about using the Melo coils in my Atlantis lol
