I haven't tried my CoilMaster yet. Won't need to do any re-wicking for a few weeks at least. Did you see that long follow-up email he sent?
No, what was it about?

@russ81072 and anyone else: the following is a long explanatory email from Jeremy of RBASupplies.com ... hence, the "spoiler" ...
Greetings,

We just wanted to reach out to you because we discovered something that may lead to some confusion and wanted to take a moment to fill you in! This is in relation to the Coil Master Coiler - specifically the hex-screw upgrade that we offered (and sent) for free.

When we discovered that the hex head screws worked better in the smaller coil sizes (1, 1.5, and 2mm) we contacted the supplier to let them know about our findings. We also put them to task at finding where we could purchase the new screws from so that we could offer our customers a free courtesy upgrade at no additional cost. They were able to locate the screws for us that would work in the Coil Master Coilers with the flat head screws (the only kind we had seen at that point) and added them to our order for us. This ended up causing a delay in getting our product to us but it would be worth the wait, so we opted to wait.

When we received our coilers along with the separate package of screws we went to work packaging baggies with 3 screws in each to send out with the coilers.

As it turns out, Coil Master already did the upgrade for us but did not bother telling us that they did. They evidently redesigned the coiler screws and position based on our findings. But because each package is sealed and because they didn’t tell us that they had done this for us we had no way of knowing that we didn’t need to send out the upgraded screws after all, not to mention the effort that it took to bag and tag 7,000 screws. Unfortunately China is not always great at open communication. In fact, the replacement screws that they sent us will NOT work on the NEW design, because they drilled the holes a different size (smaller) to accommodate yet a different hex-head screw that they discovered.

To be honest, I'm not sure why they would send the extra screws that we ordered to send out with each kit knowing full well that they had already A) Done the upgrade with a different screw, and B) The screws that they sent fit the old model and NOT the new model that each of you received. I'm frustrated at the time wasted packaging each set of screws and I'm frustrated for any confusion that getting a device with the hex screws already installed along with a set of "upgrade" hex screws that don't fit may have caused you. I apologize on their (Coil Master Company) behalf.

For your reference:

Original Flat Head Screws:
0
0

Screws that I was sent and told would be the upgrade for the new coilers:
0
0

Screws that they ended up using for the upgrade in the new devices:
0
0

So the bottom line is this, IF you also happen to have an original Coil Master Coiler (with the flat head screws) the extra set of screws that I sent you for free WILL fit those. However if you just received your coil master coiler set from me and it already came with hex screws in it, you do not need the extra screws that I sent you for free because they will not fit your device. Feel free to toss them in your build bag or if you know someone with an original version of the coil master coiler you might give the set of screws to them and make their day better since you don't need them because your coiler already has the upgraded hex screws that Coil Master switched to as a result of our research.

Thank you for your time, your understanding and your business. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Once again, I am sorry for any confusion that this may have caused.

Sincerely,

for me, even 60 degrees would not be enough :confused:
I have the newer version then, it came with hex screws already installed and a little hex screw driver.

Thanks, moe. I think I have the original (I got mine right after RBA started advertising) but I have not received extra screws from RBA as of yet. Have you?

I didn't order in time to get one from the first batch. I believe what I received contained extra screws. Haven't fiddled around with it yet, though.

I think you'll like it. Mine seemed to work okay, I didn't notice a problem yet with the screws holding. Maybe that happens over time. A warning: When the directions say don't push too hard, listen. I botched my first one. Overlapped wraps.
