I think there's already two or three threads about this already. Seems Ill Vapes didn't even respond to the complaint therefore a default judgement was made against them. They closed down their facebook page and are probably in hiding preparing to declare bankruptcy.

Hana may find that the vaping public hates companies that go after resellers in court, meanwhile they are losing market share and are hopelessly behind the times with Chinese temperature control technology starting to hit the shores. I'm vaping on a Chinese Vaporflask clone with temp control. It actually works better than a buddies VS RDNA40 I borrowed. One of the better deals for $69...

Perhaps not a very fair assessment to make, but behavior such as this, along with other douchebag modders like Ameravape and the V3 Flip is the reason why I will never want to support a US based e-cig manufacturer.

To me, I just see it as a company that hosed consumers using the "high cost of labor and materials" as the excuse for absurd prices and sub par work, then when the tables turned on them, they cried, bitched and ran to the lowest bidding attorney to take on their case.

Again, I get it, there are many exceptions to this, but once this perception was reinforced several times, that was pretty much it.

Atmomixani is probably the most cloned company out there, but I don't ever recall hearing them post racist comments about china, or threaten to sue everyone around them. Instead, they just continue their focus on making quality products, and they still have a market share larger than what they are actually able to fulfill.

Vaporshark is a company that showed you can make a better quality authentic product at a much lower cost along w/ excellent customer service & support, yet Hana Modz still remains the same with poor service & support, as well as no improvements made on how the boards are installed. And here they are claiming damages caused by unauthorized vendors tarnishing their name, when in reality, they are doing a fine job of that themselves.

I think using another companies logos is unethical. If you want to clone something I don't believe they should be able to use the logos. Its not gonna go anywhere legally until the industry is regulated but profiting off of someone else's ideas is morally wrong IMO

^ Yes, I do agree with that. I think given the choice between logo and non logo, majority will opt for the logo-less clone anyway.

I like EHPRO clones because they choose not to include logos and such

I like ehpro mainly because of the quality. I sometimes don't want clones with logo's, but on certain pieces I want it to have one. My TOBH clone just wouldn't be the same without that cool "Atty" logo on it. I like that my ehpro kayfun is naked though. Depends on the particular device for me I guess.

Yeah, I hear you man. I wish I could afford them. I have a couple pieces that I'd love to have authentic versions of. When my finances improve I hope the ones I want are available.

When your product isnt available, you are primed for cloning.
There are consumers who want authentic and will pay, and those who don't. Hana isnt loosing if someone chooses not to pay $250 for a mod.

BTW if you haven't visited the Hana Modz home page for awhile, you'll find that prices have dropped. I bought an S.I. V3 Pack for $150 + 10 S&H = $160.

Is it just me or has the vape industry brought the whole cloning concept to the mainstream? I can't think of any other industry that has multiple companies making basically the exact same product (logos included on some) haven't seen any other industry copying so many other people's designs. Not a bad thing, I ain't paying upwards $200 for an authentic rta, mod, etc. But I do understand the authentic companies concern and issue with the cloners who use their logos. Think hana should've went after long dong vaporco who made those mods instead of the shop selling them tho.

If Hana Modz spent as much time improving their products as they did trying to sue vendors, the cloupor boxes would of had very little impact on their sales & reputation.

The first time I heard cloning put forth into the mainstream was with all the designer fashion brands being knocked off in Asia and sold in the states.
The other industries that are still heavily affected today are consumer electronics and media, such as DVD's, music, software and video games.

Chinese knockoffs run rampant in the fashion industry. High end women's purses are a huge target, as are many designer brands. Just about every product under the sun has been cloned, from auto parts to cell phones.

Yip, I was wrong. Forgot about rolox and the like. I still however think vaping has brought it to a different level.

Its because these companies don't have to capital to make people pay in the judicial system. However China is always gonna do it. Authentic needs to just focus on their product and make them so good they shit on any clone.

Yep. They have gone down a great deal. The V4D is $209 and an S.I. V4D is $179. You can get an S.I. DNA 40 pack for as little as $129.

Second and third world countries are full of counterfeit products. Ask any service member that's deployed to any shit hole and they'll tell you about all the knock-off crap out there. It's a rediculously huge industry. And what's anyone gonna do about it? Sue china? Haha! Sure thing pal.

Man Hana's prices have gone way down. You can get a dna 40 cheaper than the vapor shark. That said I feel that there design hasn't held up as well as I thought (I even have a can clone already). They just seem ugly to me now. I would rather have a cana box than theirs. It's amazing what 8-9 months can do.

Yeah, they didn't make any effort to innovate/improve their line of products. At the very least they could have incorporated a nice mounting deck for the chip, but I guess its easier to just put a "void if removed" seal over the guts and hope nobody notices LOL

Like I said before, they could have easily become the industry leader for box mods had they thought more on the long term as opposed to how they are running things now.

Wonder if fasttech got a phone call...lol
