Yes that word is "Chittin"

No, chitin is just the worst, most toxic ingredient in bugs.

I found this article on NaturalNews.com:

It says:

Labeling requirements for packaged insect food

It is ruled out that insects are a hidden or secret ingredient. If packaged foods contain edible insects as an ingredient, they must appear in the list of ingredients.

In addition to existing food labeling requirements in the EU, the following information must be found on the packaging of insects-based food:

1. Designation of the novel food
Manufacturers need to list the Latin name as well as the common name to allow consumers to easily identify the ingredient. Depending on the form of use, this can look like:

“Dried/powder Alphitobius diaperinus larvae (lesser mealworm)“

2. Allergen labeling
In close proximity to the list of ingredients, the food label shall bear a statement that this ingredient may cause allergic reactions to consumers with known allergies to crustaceans, and products thereof, and to dust mites.

3. Age notice for food supplements
Food supplements containing the novel food insects shall bear a statement that they should not be consumed by persons under 18 years of age.

It's interesting that there has always been cochineal in foods, a scale insect that gives us the red dye used in foods, for years and years, maybe my whole life, and nobody ever cared. I guess I always thought it was in such a minute amount I wouldn't worry. Never gave it much thought.

If people could really see just what goes on in those processing factories they might not ever eat again.
I used to work on some machines and it was just gross, no even worse.🤢

Remember the old time credit machines

May be an image of childrens toy and text

I had to use one of those in my job, and having to write neatly enough (no problem, I write neatly) AND press hard enough to get through all the copies... THAT was the real trick.

I used to like the orange slices that were sorta simmular

Yeah, me, too. the sugared gumdrops were too sweet, but somehow, the orange slices weren't. They had just a tiny bit of a tang to them.

Does anybody know

A father, his son, and his grandson. That was too easy.

Oh, yeah, I remember those! I had a red one. :)

Hey, you guys remember a little while back we were talking about bad sci-fi movies, and I was remembering one where aliens shot people with their ray guns and turned them into skeletons? I looked it up, and it was called "Teenagers from Outer Space," remember? The aliens were coming to harvest humans to feed their giant lobsters (OMG). Well, guess what was on Svengoolie last night? YES! It was on too late for me to stay awake long enough to see the whole thing, so I recorded it. I'm going to watch it today (and try not to think about how freaking COLD it is). I can't wait! I really love those old bad movies. :inlove:

That reminds me, I'm coming up on my 10th vaperversary this summer. June 4th, 2015 I smoked my last half a cigarette. Couldn't choke the whole thing down after trying a raspberry vape the day before. And that was that. Done! I can't believe it's been TEN YEARS! I never in my wildest dreams would have thought I could kick the cigarettes. I don't even vape nic anymore, and haven't for years now. Now I'm all about the flavors! :)

Woot! Don't forget to post on the vapeversary thread when your 10th rolls around.

That was me too, afraid to believe anything would allow me to stop smoking, even as much as I enjoyed vaping, but after about six weeks of dual use, both smoking and vaping, I kicked the stinkies for good, never looked back.

Let's pray that one day soon there will be a generation that knows what life is like AFTER social media.
There is a family run restaurant in town, this family does not have time for social media. When not working, they are working at their farm, taking their children to all sorts of activities, 4H club, baseball, and other things/activities, plus their children help out at the restaurant. It's nice seeing all the family there together, even their grandfather 💓
There is still life being lived and not on social media :)

All those things were true.

Yeah, when the stuff in them only cost 5 or 10 cents. Then there was the 99-Cent Store. It started out where nothing in the store was more than 99 cents, but then the prices started going up, so they changed it to "all the prices end in .99" as in 5.99 or 10.99 or whatever. Not a cheap store anymore. They're probably all gone now.

Remember when Motel 6 cost $6.00 for a single room? Or the Super 8, which was $8.00? Yup, those were the days.
