So, since I started this whole thing I'll give some jerry springer final thoughts...
I could careless what happens to @stevegmu. Kick him, don't kick him, make him a mod (shudders) whatever. I just had 3 problems with the guy...
- I work with the families of disabled children as part of my job as a network producer. I see how much the children and the families struggle to achieve some sort of normalcy. Not just health wise, but socially. They just want their kids to be able to fit in with the rest of the children at their schools and communities. They know it's not going to happen and when it does it's forced and contrived. It's normally out of pity and these families are so strong, the last thing they are looking for is pity. I hear stories about how they are teased and shunned because of an issue they had no hand in. However, the teasing and shunning is normally done by other children who usually know better but lack the judgement to think before they blurt hurtful things out. I've been to 6 funerals in the last 3 years of children we had worked with that succumbed to the illness or disability that left that shortened their lives. Its painful to see and never leaves you.
- We also work with adults with disabilities who are very capable and brilliant people. Despite their limitations, they make a huge impact on their communities; more so than us without disabilities who are completely capable of achieving anything we please but limit ourselves out of laziness, entitlement, etc. These people face the same issues as the aforementioned children and depending on their social status or background, many are left idle in a corner and considered a burden. They deserve the same opportunities as everyone else and just because we put ramps on walk ways or have special parking spots doesn't mean the playing field is level. The people I have interacted with work just as hard as the rest of us and put in time to help others whenever they can. Obviously, that's not everyone but I've dealt with a large sample size and the ones who do far out number the ones who don't.
- Lastly, in 2008 I had a very well paying job working in marketing for an investment and broker firm. Everything was going great. We were lavished with bonuses, company cars, and salaries that were not justified by the little amount of work we did. One morning we all got called into one of the many board rooms and were informed the company had been sold and we were all shit out of luck. Devastation soon followed. We nearly lost everything. I nearly had to move back into my parents home and every penny I had saved was quickly diminished in order to keep the family afloat. I picked myself up by my boot straps, did what I had to and landed firmly back on my feet.
So, when I saw someone who thought that those three things were fodder for insults against people who did not provoke him, I decided to fireback the the same way he does. Dirty, mean spirited and out of the blue. Like I said before, many people have probably lost respect for me because of it and think I've tried to start some sort of lynch mob. Maybe so maybe not. But I did what I did and I can easily live with it. So there is my reason for doing what I did. I'm sure he will continue on but I will not know about it because he's going back on my ignore list. Thanks to the mods for tolerating both this thread and @stevegmu. This is truly a great place and I hope to spend many years learning, sharing ideas and shitting on shitbags when warranted

Thank you for the thread, it was needed. not needed as in any of us had a say about it; hence, I think calling it a lynch mob was extreme. I can say I want to own a F22 raptor, it doesn't put one in my backyard. It was Needed to let us all see that the feeling is shared by most of the community.
Its funny that even the ones who think he should stay, feel so out of principle; but, share the same thought on the personality. I admire those stating their reasoning out of principle though, I share their principality, my principles are just a tad different.- in the sense that the trolling is leaking into new vapor threads. -we need to give them nothing but support and good info so they can kick the smokes, that's why we are ultimately here.

My own opinion as a member, clearly, a lot of people had some feelings to get off their chest and were able to do so. Not a damn thing wrong with venting. Many times people just want to vent so they don't explode. People need a sounding board, sometimes they don't want a solution. Many times they do. Pretty sure a lot of people felt better getting things out.
And for me it's rather simple, I like honesty, I like a community that flourishes by helping one another, the few things I don't, are scammers, Spammers and bullies and trolls, that is why I am here. The word has evolved in its meaning, no doubt about that. I fully understand that and catch myself using it all the time, but I try not to. It's simply because of my line of work. I don't lambaste or brow beat people who do use it, I just choose to try not to. However, in all actuality it was never intended to define cognitive impairment.

It's rare that I ever drink but when I do, I enjoy a nice Sammy Smith Stout. One pint of Sammys and I'm very well buzzed.
Oh snap I forgot to mention my other favorite. Heady Topper. The only place I think it's sold is Vermont and it's quite possibly the finest IPA known to man. it's almost impossible to get your hands on but my wife's aunt is a bartender and has access to it. That's one beer I can't pass up.
