Hello
I have a pair of Molicel P28 batteries i was told id get more than 1 day with my dual battery Boro mod, however im lucky if they last the day.
Can anyone tell me which batteries in 2026 would be best for my Boro?, for longer vaping time that is, it confuses me whether i need higher amps, lower cdr rates or higher Mah?
I currently use the molis as i was told they are the best but im not so sure, for instance they are 25A, 2800mah, would a pair of Lg HG2a at 3000mah actually last longer or is there another battery that would last longer.
Thanks for any advice.
Molicel makes good batteries, particularly for high power vaping. As a low-mid power vaper, I've had better performance from Sony's VTC batteries, but that's me and how I vape. Regardless, there are other things to consider. Here are some guidelines.
Higher mAh will give you more time between charges, generally speaking.
However (big caveat), you need a CDR that can handle the power you want.
The rule is CDR X # of batteries X 3 = maximum wattage.
Example:
25A CDR in a single battery device means 25 X 3 = 75W max power.
2 20A CDR batteries in a dual-battery device means 20 X 2 X 3 = 120W max power.
So a good recommendation of a specific battery requires knowing how you vape. A 10A CDR battery may have a high mAh rating and last a good long time but won't work for you if you want to vape above 30W, or 60W with a dual-battery device, which you said you use.
Higher power mean shorter usage time, obviously.
Age also reduces usage time. Not just how long you've been using the batteries but also for long since manufacture before you got them. Highly reputable sellers such as 18650batterystore & LiIonWholesale will usually have fresher batters than a vape shop or other seller. Sometimes you do get lucky or unlucky, though. Your Molicels may simply be aging. Every re-charge shortens longevity a little.
How batteries are stored also matters. You want a moderate temperature and storage in a non-conductive case. Never inside a vape device when it's not in use for awhile.
Charging inside your mod may reduce longevity; some mods are better than others but none are dedicated chargers.
Mooch, aka BatteryMooch, knows about everything there is to know regarding vape batteries. He has reviews of many batteries online. Search for "mooch" + "HG2a" and something will probably turn up. He also has made comparison charts.
If this is more than you wanted or you knew this already and just wanted a short, simple P28 vs HG2a answer, I apologize. I was trying to be helpful.
