When you're a little bear you just want to run fast, climb trees, find honey, spy on tourists (for when they leave their picnic baskets unattended). You don't yet know of the adversities life will throw at you, but you know you have friends, hope, and faith.

There is a degree of consensus among us, not 100 percent, but a suspicion that doctors are educated to be pill sellers, not healers.

So 11 years ago when Jimi received a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer, he turned away from the medical racket and started to find his own way back to health. He held out hope to others too, by posting research on his daily health thread here at VU.

Today we're celebrating another year into Jimi's journey of healing, health, love and truth. Our venue is Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains, 6,743 feet above sea level, the ancestral home of the indigenous Serrano people for approximately 2,500 years. The Serrano saw the grizzly bears as our ancestors, and did not eat the meat or wear the fur of these massive animals.

Stick around for fun, fishing, food, friendship, camping, and the revelations we're sure to experience in the world of natural beauty at Big Bear Lake.

It's the Big Bear North Face hiking challenge. We trained to get ready for it, so here we come. Jimi is there already, waving the way to his den.

We couldn't possibly encounter this pristine, snow and rain fed lake without taking a dip during the warm hours. Everybody in!

Silhouette people swimming (1).png

Mama always said, swim first, then eat. I still don't know if it's just a myth that if you eat first you'll get stomach cramps and drown.

We'll have lunch the easy way. Since we'll be working this afternoon to catch our dinner, and later sweating over open fires to make our dinner, for lunch we have help from a lakeside cafe.

One of JImi's favorites, tomato sandwiches, BIG ones. How many of these can you eat?

jimi 11th lunch.png

You see other options there, herbed fresh mozzarella to make it caprese, plenty of avocado for all, enough basil for everyone to have all they want. There are more options not seen, cold cuts for those who want a bigger sandwich, mayo & mustard, potato salad, all the extras. Are we celebrating? We're celebrating.

Jimi 11 years trifold 2.png

A moment of rest and peace after lunch, sipping some of that Bear Fight whiskey provided by Snap, mingling our vapor, a nap for those who want one, until we have to get busy catching our dinner.

All VU members are invited to participate today. Later on we're going fishing, and tonight cooking our catch over open fires. Stay tuned for more on today's events.

From all of your friends Jimi, congratulations on 11 years. You're the boss bear.

Thank you to everyone, you warmed my heart   . I couldn't of done this without the support of all my wonderful friends here, Bless you all. One main thing I pray for every day is that NONE of my friends ever have to go through this and that someday I can find a cure that I can share with the world

Time to catch dinner.

Misswish says it's less work to just eat the bait, but it doesn't take much to fill her up.

Jimi doesn't actually need a fishing pole,

but he's with us other critters, so he's doing what we do. Gloop is messing around here:

For Wolfie, fishing and dancing are kinda the same thing.

Yep, goes right along with the state of medical franken-science today, which cares for anything but healing people.

Doctor Doctor
-Ray Stevens

Doctor, doctor, have mercy on me
Doctor, your cure is worse than my disease
You doctors, you get all the breaks
You get to bury your mistakes
Doctor, have mercy on me

Well, the cruelest thing that was ever invented
Came out of a mind that was truly demented
It's a little ol' thing they call the proctoscope
I said "a little ol' thing", that ain't exactly right
'Cause it's a three-foot piece of galvanized pipe
Make a middle-aged man out-jump an antelope
Heaven knows what goes on in their minds
Why, some of these doctors think they're divine
'Bout a half-step down from the man upstairs
They can't walk on water or part the sea
But I had one who separated me
From my gallbladder and every penny of money I made for the last six years

Doctor, doctor, have mercy on me
Doctor, your cure is worse than my disease
The practice of medicine is a must
But must you always practice on us?
Doctor, have mercy on me

They make you wait in their office for hours on end
While they drive into the club in their Mercedes-Benz
That you paid for with your hemorrhoid-ectomy
And those little gowns they give you got no back at all
And they'd be too short if you were three feet tall
It's just a plot to strip you of your pride and dignity
Strip down naked, boy, cough and sneeze
And jump up on that table on your hands and knees
Now there's not another person in the world you'd do that for
But we just jump on up there like a Cocker Spaniel
Like it's written somewhere in some sacred manual
That you do everything the doctor tells you
Who do they think they are?

Doctor, doctor, have mercy on me
Doctor, your cure is worse than my disease
Practice medicine day and night
Practice? Practice 'til you get it right
Doctor, have mercy on me

What ever happened to the good old time doctors who actually cared about their patients and not about how much money they had. :( :( :(

After listening to Mike Adams podcast you linked yesterday, I believe, like a lot of things, the failure is linked to the fourth branch of government, the administrative bureaucracies, unelected, beholden to corporate interests, never intended by this country's founding fathers, yet in control of the three original branches of government.

May be an image of animal and text that says 'POSITIVITY Kindness isn't t about isn being big. It's It's about showing up with a big heart.'

When I look back to when this nightmare started I remember being so scared, confused, didn't know which way to turn. The Dr. was tellin me I only had 2 years to live, 3 years if I was truly lucky. Then he said Nothing will change this, no diet change, no herbs, no magic pill, nothing. I was really depressed then he said we might be able to buy you another 6 months to one year of life if you start Chemo right now. Well I had seen what chemo does to people and passed. And like it was meant to be I seen our wonderful @Tyger Tyger had posted about the truth about cancer. I watched the entire series and it opened my eyes even though there wasn't nearly the information I have found since but I thank the Lord for Tyger Tyger saving me and givin me some direction.

As it ends up it was all the things that the (so called doctors) told that would be a waste of my time, diet change, lifestyle change, herbs or special pill) was what DID work for me. There is so much one can do for themselves but are too leary to try them.

It's that fourth branch of government, the unelected bureaucracies. As during the Cootie19, if the docs go off script they can lose their licenses. You hear stories of doctors going out into the parking lot with patients to give them secret advise about non-pharma therapies and the real cures, that "truth about cancer". I'm glad you were smart enough to go rogue.

With great care we'll create our camp site and cook our dinner on open fires.

Those who don't want fish can have juicy portobello burgers, and homemade potato chips fried in avocado oil from the lakeside grocery store.

And for dessert, oh my, the real thing:

At the end of our long, exciting day of celebration, those who prefer to can sleep close to nature in tents. The gear shop rents or sells the tent kits including equipment, sleeping bags, lighting and all you need to be comfortable.

Camping tent village w ppl.png

Those who prefer to sleep indoors can book a room at the log cabin inn up the hill.

Some of our guests, like Jimi's little nephew, won't even need a tent, nor a room.

And some, like Goph, prefer to get cozy underground.
