boxer mod. yihi350 v2

hi all. My friend bought me a boxer mod V2 yihi350j V2. And he sent me its pics. I noticed that the buttons are in a new shape not like any boxer mod before. I asked the one he sold it from. He told me its the new shape and i must put the mod shell on it. Is that true ? Thanks
