24g kanthal high ohms?

Hi I have a 70w IPV mini 2 with a dark horse RDA.
I use 24g kanthal and have been trying various simple builds over the last 3 months.
Recently, unsure why but after following directions on Steam Engine and riptrippers on youtube, things like a dual coil 0.3 ohm 1/8 inch 5 wrap 24g is coming out to be 0.9ohm. another i tried earlier 5 wrap 5/64 0.7ohm.

I'm really trying to hit 0.3 maybe 0.2. Its producing a lot of heat, I usually run at 70 watts, its at 8v right now. i use efest 18650s i have 2x 2100 and one 2500mah batteries. it's the same on all of them. Even cleaned both sides of the batteries inside positive and negative of the box mod, the 510 thread, male and female and tried backing out the gold screw at the base of the 510 to see if it would get better contact.

I prefer that there is now a little gap in between the vape and the dripper, seems like it would help with heat transfer, but not sure if it is good long term or at all?

I'm about to upgrade to a Sigelei fuchai 200watt. I'm looking for maybe better dripper for it. maybe a turbo v2 or a nuke.

also screws are tight, wires are not over tightened (broke) i'm putting them in, dry firing lightly, squeezing coil with needle nose getting nice glow center out, evenly. But high ohms.. Driving me crazy
any ideas?

I use 24g Nichrome and can get .2 with a 5 wrap build over a 2.5mm rod. I haven't used kanthol in a little while but the difference in the ohms of your build vs the one your going for is huge. Did you wrap it too Many times?

dual .6 coils like you're talking about should be .3 ohms, so I have no idea.

When both coils are glowing equally, and you have a resistance of 0.7-0.9 Ohm, the only thing I can think of is the RDA being defective. The build itself should give you around 0.25-0.3 Ohm.
