was wondering the other day if i could sacrifice some of my amp limit for longer mah with my DNA30 and with this battery you can. you cant use more than 10amps on a DNA30 but you can always check for yourself here: http://www.the12volt.com/ohm/ohmslawcalculators.asp

30 watts (max wattage) @ 0.3 ohms (lowest resistance) = 10 amps. these batteries hold 20 with 500 more mah than vtc5, perfect for 30 watt device.

Judging by the charts on this ebay auction, it doesn't look too happy supplying 10A, and the seller notes that it gets "quite warm". There's quite a big drop in voltage right from the start, and although that may not matter much for a regulated device, that's why I say it doesn't look happy, and why it gets warm. Also, the DNA30 will reset itself when the voltage gets low - that tail end of the discharge trace could well be of no use, in which case you'd be better off with the 2500mAh battery!

thats just the max limit for a DNA 30 device, most people arent using them like that anyway. 0.6 ohm @ 30 watts is 7 amps and 1.0 @ 20 watts is 4.5 amps which is where most people use DNA 30s in that range. worth a shot for regulated devices i think

Yeah, would be useful to find discharge charts for those currents as well.

I've only seen tests on the 15A and 25A versions of those, they are here:

Efest IMR18500 1000mAh (Purple) 2014 - 15A

Efest IMR18650 2500mAh (Purple) 2014 - 25A
http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Efest IMR18650 2500mAh (Purple) 2014 UK.html

Also, there is this disconcerting thread: http://www.vapingunderground.com/threads/warning-on-efest-35-and-20-amp-cells.11556/

I wouldn't trust an Efest to be 3100mAh AND be rated properly. Spend the $7-9 and get a VTC4/5.

The 2500mAh cell doesn't look too bad (even if not up to specified rating), at least up to 10A draw. In the chart I linked, the 2500mAh was supplying higher voltage than the 3100mAh all the way down to under 3V!!

Just spottted a flaw there - those currents are output currents, with the DNA boosting voltage to get the power. The current drawn from the battery will be higher - just divide the power by the worst case battery voltage to get the highest current demanded, e.g. 30W / 3V = 10A.

What do you think about this battery advice- I have a Seigeli 20watt with a 26650 tube from VariTube[using mnke IMR in it] I have a Seigeli 30 watt on the way. I will be then using 18650 tube with the 20watt.

I saw some of those today.. but they were 35 amp.. I made careful note of that because I have been wanting a V1 Stingray, but I've decided that Im just gonna go for broke and get a DNA 30. The 35 amp Efest caught my eye thinking that they were the best amp rating for a 30 watt mod that Ive ever seen.,in the flesh anyways. Has anypne used the black Vamp batteries? The 40 amp ones? Are they any good? You know what they say about things that seem too good to be true. LOL

I have both the Efest 18650 3100mah 20 A batteries and the Efest 18650 2500mah 35A batteries for sale.
IMO the 3100mah battery is a great battery for long life in your VV/VW mods
and the 2500mah 35A for your mechs and subohm builds

I may bite on the 3100 for my DNA30 I just ordered. It's hard to find batteries from places where I want to order something else too.
