Going to build sub ohm coils, want the best clouds and flavor. The diameter will be 26g.

SS works in VW/AND TC right?

I am, by no means, a builder of any sort. In fact, I just bought some stuff and am awaiting its arrival. But I can say this: more mods/boards accept 316 out of box and some do not have user definable TC settings. So if the intent is TC, then 316. Otherwise, I defer to the experts.

really not much of a difference. the 317 will be slightly better in temp control but probably not very noticeable especially depending on what mod you are using.

also yes both can be fired in TC or Watt mode. 317 will have slightly lower resistance as well. For instance a dual coil for .2 ohms in 317 would be 9 wraps and on 316 would be 10 wraps

I think right now I'm liking NiFe wire, but SS wire is great as well. If you can get SS430 it would be much better in TC then 316 or 317 but again, depends on your mod as well

Well at the price for the SS and I need it now I'm biting the 316L. Thanks. Since its hundred feet I might try some exotic coils. Twist, alien etc.

I have lots of guitar wire, many gauges none are coil wound. Can I use that?

most guitar wire in NOT SS the winding of thicker gauge guitar wire for electrics is often nickel, for acoustics its various bronze which you should not use
GHS used to sell pure SS strings the may still. I would not recomend using guitar wire period

Lol I so did not mean to post that! I know guitar wire can't be used even if it's SS it still has coating crap and not meant to add resistance to electricity.
