I was wondering if anyone has a 454 big block clone from 101vape.com. They have it on sale for 15.99. Sounds awfully cheap to me. I'm trying to figure out if its worth the time and money before I get one. I realize it's only 16 bucks so I wouldn't be out much lol. On the other hand I bought my wife a tugboat clone and had to work on it for several hours before it was usable.

I got mine from angelcigs but it was a tobeco clone. The quality is good, but I don't like how much heat it transfers to the drip tip.

I have a Tobeco that I do not use. Message me your contact info and I'll send it to you on the freebies.

Wow! You rock
Meh, I have my moments lol. I bought it out of curiosity and it just does not fit my vaping style. I will say THIS about them.....invest in some 28g wire....the centre post hole is miniscule and if you do a quad build...24g and 22g will NOT fit.............fuck it...I'll send wire along with it.

I prefer the 350 small block, easier on gas.
Lol. No doubt. There's just some bout the 454 though. I can squeeze about 13 mpg outta mine on a good day...with a fresh tune up...down hill...with a good tail wind...

BTW....I am sending you a better stainless drip tip. The one that comes with the 454 is utter shit.

I got the 454 in the mail. Much appreciated! I'm not certain the big block is for everyone, I went with a .25 ohm 26 gauge quad coil build. It was completely miserable. It might be better as a dual coil setup. Here is the finished product.

I went with dual 24 gauge .4 and liked the vape, it was very intense, but the heat it generated was to much.

Well for some reason my phone won't upload the pic. I'll have to work on that some more.

Thats no joke. Mine heats up the atty and the top of my mod something awful. I had to double check and make sure there weren't any shorts.

I also over dripped and it boiled hot juice out of it.

Built your coils different than I did mine.

Did mine vertical, not horizontal.

I also did vertical. I find it easier when the posts are on the deck like this. For me, the only issue I had was the heat. But I like to vape more than once a minute so that was a deal breaker.

I tried a vertical coil the first time and i couldn't get it to come together like I wanted to. I thought at first that I really hated this atty, but the more I use it the more i like it. It seem like it has a lot more flavor than my Galaxy.

You will notice in the MANY pics of my set ups here that some of my atty's have metal tips....some glass or delryn.....there is a reason for that! ;)

I think the next time I have a couple hours to kill I'll drill out the post holes for a bigger gauge wire and may try again with a vertical coil. I don't really care for 26 gauge wire. I guess I'm to damn rough with it, it always gives me problems.

The drip tip you sent with it is awesome, doesn't get hot at all. The bottom of the atty gets hot as hell though. I think the heat sink on the top cap is deep enough that it keeps the upper end fairly cool. Of course I've been chain vapin it since I got it built.

Sent you that one for this very reason.

It was an excellent choice and I do appreciate it. Getting a burnt lip my first go round with the big block may have changed my opinion of it.

Larger gauge wire will cool down the vape somewhat. Lighter gauges ramp up faster and burn hotter. I was quickly reminded of this when I built a .5ohm single using 24g on my Squape R. Pulsed it about 9 times and could not handle the base because it was bloody near glowing.

Hmmm. I like the bigger wire for sure but I wasn't thinking about the ramp up time. I bet it would be extremely long on a quad set up.

i use a dual vertical setup, with tripple twisted 26gauge, 5 wraps. it definatly cooled it down quite a bit and i still get a great flavorful vape from it. i chain vape, and have a brass tip on a copper atty, and im not having heat problems whatsoever.

I started using Clapton coils a lot lately and it really cools down the vape. And I can see e liquid being sucked into the coil.
