EA has revealed five real-life racing personalities appearing in Need for Speed. Each represents one of the five ways to play in the racing reboot.
Gymkhana racer Ken Block, Porsche enthusiast Magnus Walker, the Risky Devil street team, builder Nakai-san, and Morohoshi, a member of the Yakuza.
While Walker focuses on high-speed driving, Block's aggressive style centres around precision sliding and cutting corners. Nakai-san is impressed by customised rides, the Risky Devil team are all about proximity driving to maximise drift trains and Morohoshi is a dangerous wild card.
“We’re honored to be working with these icons - they live and breathe the lifestyle we’re looking to recreate and have been such an inspiration to the team as we return Need for Speed back to greatness,” said Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer at Ghost Games. “We wanted to create a powerful story that’s emotional but also pushes the boundaries of technology by adding real-time compositing to the power of Frostbite. This allows us, for the first time ever, to blend live action film seamlessly with your in-game car and garage.”
