Warning: this article contains spoilers for Secret Wars #2!
The Marvel Universe was destroyed last week in Secret Wars #1 (by writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Esad Ribic), and with issue #2 we have our first glimpse at what has taken it’s place. Surprisingly, the new Marvel Universe aka Battleworld is an awful lot like Game of Thrones.
Now, we’re not saying that the creative team is copying the hit fantasy TV show and novels. There were just several core Game of Thrones elements that popped out at us while reading the issue. Whether it's coincidence or on purpose is not for us to say. When you think about it, many of these elements were used long before Game of Thrones was around, so it would be impossible to judge either way.
