Legendary actor Bruce Dern wanted to guest star in Jackass Forever, despite being 85 years old.

During an interview with The Howard Stern Show, long-time Jackass star Johnny Knoxville revealed that Dern reached out to be in the upcoming movie, but it looks as though he missed the boat.

“Bruce Dern had contacted us,” he revealed. “Someone had contacted us [saying] 'Bruce Dern wants to be in Jackass’. We would love Bruce Dern to be in Jackass, but now we're kind of done filming.”

Of course, Jackass is known for its celebrity cameos, with the likes of Brad Pitt appearing on the original show.

The upcoming Jackass Forever has plenty of celebrity guests, too, including world-renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk and musician Machine Gun Kelly. Unfortunately, Bruce Dern will be sitting this one out.

The Academy Award-nominated actor is perhaps best known for his villainous roles, starring in the 1981 erotic thriller Tattoo as a deranged tattoo artist who kidnaps a fashion model. In recent years, he’s become a frequent collaborator of Quentin Tarantino, appearing in Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Announced back in 2019 and based on the hit TV show, Jackass Forever sees the return of the Jackass crew as they up the ante with a series of ridiculous and downright dangerous stunts. In fact, the crew is believed to have amassed over $24 million worth of injuries throughout their careers.

Haven’t seen the previous Jackass movies for while? Here’s where to watch them all before Jackass Forever.

Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O star in the film, alongside Jackass regulars such as Jason 'Wee Man' Acuña, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Danger Ehren, and Preston Lacy.

Jackass Forever is directed by Jeff Tremaine, based on concepts by Jason Acuña, Eric André, and Derrick Beckles.
