That was one flavor I had from the vendor and couldn't taste at all! With any luck, this will tell me what it was supposed to taste like :)

This sounds great to my taste buds! I have little of the FA blackcurrant on hand, but only the TFA Concord Grape ATM. I may try about 5% on the Grape Concord later tonight and see how it turns out.

Concord Grape is great sweet or tart so its a no lose situation.

No, I"ll try it at the original FA flavor percentages - I find both these flavors very strong, and bordering on perfumey, so I'll stick with your original recipe!

I'd be curious to hear how your all FA turns out. I'll let you guys know about the TFA substitution when i mix, downgraded to potentially tonight.

Have a Crosby, Stills, and Nash concert to rest up for tomorrow night!

How about a sweet raspberry flavor with it? Any sweet berry would probably be compatible, but raspberry with blackcurrant is a classic combo.

HIC: I have a great Raspberry recipe for you. There is a beer in Belgium that is a Raspberry Beer and it is really good. I made a vaping juice that mimics that beer very, very closely. It has turned into my go to flavor. I call it Framboise Beer

Framboise Beer Framboise Beer Lite Framboise Beer Sweet

Beer (VZ SC) 18% 5% 18%
Raspberry (Sweet) 10% 7% 15%
Koolada 2% 2% 2%

This is a nice blend I hope you will like it as much as I do.

I love raspberry beer. It never occurred to me to make a vape version, maybe because I have no beer flavoring. But I'd vape that! Thanks!

Hey, wait a minute.... a VZ super-concentrate at 18%? Now I need your decoder ring...

hic, you mentioned bergamotfor $1.69. That is the price for the Signature brand. Are you using the Signture line or the FlavorArt line? I have never tried the Signature line. Please, any info on that line would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys. I did go to PureVapes and got some concentrates in the sample size for the most part. The FA I use on a regular basis, like Cookie, I get in the larger size. The samples are just right for me to "sample" (imagine that) a flavor I don't normally have. When I use a concentrate for the first few times , I Start with the manufacturer's recommended amount(s). I have a list for all of the popular brands. FA has 44 of their flavors listed and the first 16 are in the 5 to 15% category while the last 28 are in the 1% to 4% range. They provide Planet of the Vapes Wiki as the source for this Guide To Flavorings document. I will definitely have to get more FA concentrates. Thanks for sharing. I can't go back and rework 450 recipes, so will have to start with any new ones and rework the others as I remake them for my own use. Going to have to look into wholesale cost for the store and look at the cost of changing over.

See HIC, there was a decoder ring. Only it was for getting me to look at the published FA data. Thanks Of course, my Minster of Finance (aka , Wife) is going to put a contract out on you now.

That link goes to a strange Russian site - not Flavor Art! Where did you find that FA recommends its flavors at 15%?

Amanda: At 15% they list: Cappuccino 10 - 15%, Cherry 10-15%, Chocolate 5-15%, Citrus Mix 10-15%, Concord Grape 10-15%, Pear 10-15%, Strawberry 10-15%, and Whipped Cream ~ 15%. Sorry about that. Wrong address, that is a list of FA resellers. This whole document is from Planet of the Vape WiKI. What ever that is. The majority was documented on ECF forum by Nikhil and updated by P of the A. The whole document addresses concentrates by:

Bickford Flavors
Cappella
Cupcake World
Faerie's Finest
Flavor Art
LorAnn
The Perfumer's Apprentice
Seedman's Flavors
Tasty Puff Flavors

Interesting link, Eric - opportunity to test my (very rudimentary) Russian skills. So that's a Russian reseller of several brands. They recommend 3-4% for a couple FlavorWest flavors that I personally use at 10+%, and 15-30% on Hansen tobaccos I used below 3%. Holy cow! But for FlavourArt I didn't see any recommending over 3-4%. Which FA did you see higher numbers than 3-4% on?

FA's main (Italian) site used to list suggested percents, ranging from 1-4%. It looks to me like those are the numbers this Russian site is using. These days the Italian site just says 2% somewhere.

Have you seen this spreadsheet made by German vapers? The grey column was FA's recommended percents from their website at the time; not all had a percentage available. Each column is a different person's standalone percents. You can see the range of opinions on a given flavor, but - perhaps more interestingly - each person's relative strengths between different flavors. I still find it useful. Many brands other than FlavourArt are listed (click tabs at the top).

HIC: Yes, Amanda let me know about the Russian site and I went back in and edited it out and in the answer to Amanda I listed the flavors the Flavoring Guide listed at over 10%. Yes I do have the German Spreadsheet. Ok, I yield. For now. I am going to bring in more of the FA concentrates and will let you guys know how they work for me.

That wiki is totally weird......I'd go with the spreadsheet HIC linked - it's a much better starting point in my opinion! And you'll save a lot of money :)

HIC: Interest thing just happened. I was trying to get back to your latest reply to my post and Explorer flat died. When it came back I had to load from cache and then your message was gone. I have been trying ever since, without success. So, had to just find another of your post and work from there.

I agree on the ratio vs % question. That is what governs most of my mixes. But, you must know and understand your concentrates as well. Some flavors bring more to the table naturally then others and there is a big difference between brands. Some don't come close to being what they are labeled. If I am researching a concentrate, I will sometimes go to the MSD (Materials Safety Data) sheets to gain as much insight into the molecules used, as I can. But, mostly, it's an educated guess.

Spicy Biscuit. Yes, that was my nutmeg component. TFA's Holiday is suppose to be nutmeg heavy. I could never get anything from it or the Pumpkin Spice. I sat here with the PG/VG mix I always use (70/30) at varying degrees, and added drops to making 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and even 50% strengths and dripped them in my DDA one at a time (yes, it seem to take all afternoon) and never got anything close to a pumpkin spice flavor. Maybe I am looking at this wrong, but pumpkin spice should come close to the filling of a pumpkin pie (nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, vanilla, and maybe a little of cardamom and sugar). Funny thing, when I tested the Spicy Biscuit, I didn't get as much as I thought I would. And as for "Pumpkin Spice" - Forget it, it brings nothing to the party.

Here, here, Eric. I always use individual spice flavors when possible. thanks for the info on Spicy Biscuit. Holiday Spice is my go-to for nutmeg, but if that one also works, I'll put it on my 'order someday' list.

Hmm, I still disagree on spicy biscuit - it really does taste like the spicy part of pumpkin pie to me LOL So, my tastebuds rebel at apricot but embrace spicy biscuit!

Amanda: You are so lucky. I wish my taster was still as keen as it use to be. My wife and daughter said they to could taste "some kind of spice". Carolyn (wife) couldn't really pick anything out for sure, but did not find it offensive and my daughter (whose husband also vapes) didn't care for it. Then again, at 44, she is just starting to taste foods she would never even try before. She was a clef pallet baby and her taster has always been strange. the other thing; I was reading last night that it is not recommended that Spicy Biscuit should not be vaped alone.

No, my taste buds are definitely not what they used to be - as I said, I have real trouble tasting some flavors. That said, it's interesting that two people can vape the same flavor and get a totally different experience, and even seem to taste something completely different. I did vape probably 3mls of spicy biscuit by itself to see what it was like, and it was ok as a standalone, but I'm going to put it with a fruit and probably a cream. I do think, though, that it's one of those flavors that some won't care for at all. But again, I'm one of the few that can't stand Capella's custard!

While discussing and vaping FA Concord with another vaper, I stumbled on a very familiar combination. This is an extremely accurate reproduction of a vendor liquid called Catherine the Grape, by Velvet Cloud Vapor. For the most accurate results use an all-VG base, as the vendor does.

Very Nice. With all VG the flavor was good but light. I mixed it at 40/60 and I thought it was much improved. Going to play around with the ratios a bit. Thanks.
